This place is outstanding. The owners have a great love of art and the property is fun to explore. Iris the Chateau guard dog took us on a walk around the grounds. The breakfast in the original kitchen was fantastic, we could have breakfasted in the dining room if we had been up earlier! The owners are extremely friendly and advised us on local eateries. We opted for a pizzeria in les Herbiers. It was a great meal. The hotel room was huge and the interesting artworks and the high ceilings were superb. I would visit again and highly recommend. 

we stayed here August 2014. the property is breathtaking and the interior design stunning. our daughter's felt like princesses ! the family rooms are huge.  the Venice suite is amazing. home made jam at breakfast was just one of the many individual touches. the hosts were really friendly and made us feel quite at home amidst the luxury. the art work is unusual & i found the decor more interesting than most museums. close to Puy du Fou. staying here was a wonderful experience, i didn't ever want to leave ! the gardens and swimming pool were also quite a treat. there is an old chapel in the grounds. i strongly recommend this place to anyone seeking some place special where a sense of history and style is combined with a warm welcome.

Stayed one night - 27th May, just at the start of their season. Only guests. Fabulous (upgraded) room overlooking meticulously kept grounds. Some of the art adorning the walls id not for the faint hearted! There is a slightly tired air about the place, but it is enormous and I get the impression it's just the couple upkeeping the place. Bar wasn't open but I bet its a hoot on a busyish night. Bathroom was inside a turret which was cool, and breakfast was in a big farmhouse style kitchen with all you could hope for. Absolutely lovely place and would go there again.

A very cool chateau with beautiful grounds. We found the cleanliness to be fine...maybe a cobweb or two under the furniture but nothing alarming. I also agree with the prior review about the towels and wifi access. But this place had lots of character and friendly owners and we enjoyed our time there. (Our 11 year old son was a little bug-eyed at the nudity in some of the paintings in the hallways and our room, but that was kind of amusing to us.)

Enjoyed our stay

We stayed here August 2014, and the chateau is amazing with beautiful grounds and was really historic. The owners were lovely and really friendly, and the one day we had breakfast it was lovely having it in a big old historic kitchen with the owner tending to all your needs, and there was a love
Y selection of homemade jams to taste. I personally was a little disappointed that the interior decor did not match up to the same standard of the chateau itself. The bedroom was nicely furnished, however the bathroom did need some modernising and was a little tired, however there was a hair dryer and tissues, hand wash and shower gel for use, however it did feel a little cold and drap given the overall stateliness f the chateau. My man issue was with the many artefacts displayed in the chateau which I found very weird, even though I am sure some people would like. I personally just found it not in keeping with the ambience I was expecting, and some of the art work was not appropriate if hosting young children. We found the chateau a little spooky and I did nt sleep well, as everything was a little creepy at night. 
I do hope I don't sound too dramatic, as this is a lovely place, and I have travelled the world alot and stayed in a lot of places good and bad, and this was an experience.  I wanted to stay somewhere typically French, but I just don't think the interior did the owners and chateau any favours and being someone who loves decor, I just found myself wondering why or who decided to put so many things ( some of a far eastern / Asian culture in a franch chateau) I just thought it spoilt it and made the place a little spooky. Other people above commented how nice the art was. If you are expecting the inside to be a cosy and dreamy, with warm renaissance type decor then make sure you look at all the photos, if you live wacky weird art then you will live it. Be mindful of naked men an woman in precarious scenarios with full nether regions on show, my daughter was quick to hi light to me and ask several questions about what these weird people were doing in them, and every time she passed the wooden life sized budda in the corridor window she nearly freaked out! 
I agree with some ther comments regards the towels, they need an upgrade, and there is a cob web or two but then it's a big pace to clean I would imagine!
