Just back from 3 nights at La Chance au Roy having had a wonderful stay.  Elisabeth is charming and provided delicious breakfast of fresh croissants,  bread, fruit salad  with fruit juice and coffee.  The room was cleverly laid out with a single bed and chair on the ground floor with a double bed accessed via wooden stairs to a mezzanine.   Crisp white cotton bed linen and classic furnishings made this an attractive space.  Would definitely recommend and hope to return again one day.

Delightful place

Ok, yes, it is a peaceful location even if you have to play dodgems with the potholes to get there.

When we arrived the place was deserted even though we were within 20 minutes of our booked arrival time. It was a good ten minutes before anybody appeared and the phone signal was not good to make contact with the owner.

The room was OK but the stairs to the double bed were quite steep and would not suit some people. When we got back after a day out the room had not been touched. Beds not made, bin not emptied etc.

Breakfast was served at the table. Orange juice was rationed. We asked for yogurts but they only had one left so I had that and my son lost out! You would have thought that they would have gone out and bought some more for the next morning but no, obviously couldn't be bothered, so, second morning ... no yogs at all!

There was no cereal which was probably just as well because when the milk was poured into the tea a whole load of floaters appeared on the surface and it was undrinkable.

The Wi Fi was Ok downstairs but in the room my laptop didn't pick it up.

If you're going to charge 90 Euros per night you need to get a grip!

No cereal, no yogurt, stale milk, beds not made & no Wi Fi in room.

We first had a bad experience in a B&B in EU. We don't want to stay there so we called this chambres d'hotes la chance au roy and a very kind person answered the call, she helped us out and made a room free for us last minute !

We enjoyed the time we spend here , the rooms are clean and nice. The area is so peacefull and nice ! also a good route to the coast mers les bains and other beautifull city's.

We can recommand this chambre d'hotes to everyone , you will enjoy your trip when you stay here.

beautiful place where people can free their mind !

We arrived after a 6 hour drive and this is a very beautiful location with wonderful views, very tranquil and peaceful  

There was no one around but there were notices on  a door to call a mobile number. After walking around the buildings there was a guest who kindly helped us and eventually a member of staff turned up. We were shown to our room which was a mezzanine room which was very clean and comfortable although the TV did not work. To our disappointment there were no tea or coffee making facilities and again after searching the building the lady who checked us in made us coffee.  It was not until the next day when we met the proprietor Elizabeth that she told us that guests could make refreshments in the kitchen.  Breakfast was very nice with the usual for France bread rolls, croissants, jams, coffee and tea.

Peaceful location

Stopped here for one night on way back to Calais. Absolute ideal setting in the heart of the countryside. Rooms were comfortable and the beds were superb. The only drawback was it was in the middle of nowhere so had a twenty minute drive to restaurant for evening meal. If you like peace and quiet this is the place for you. Breakfast was included and consisted of home made jams and cake, croissants, coffee or tea. On arrival we were offered juice or a local drink of pommeau which was delicious. Would recommend this place.
