Clever restoration of a villa to provide hosted but discreet accommodation. We had a large room with an even larger bathroom on the top floor up two flights of stairs…an easy steady climb but worthwhile. There are stunning views of distant Sete, but also acres of oyster beds in the bay nearby. There are fresh oyster outlets next door. Meze is a perfect small fishing village with good restaurants and a Sunday market, largely untouched by the busy seaside developments nearby. Our hosts provided an excellent breakfast which can be taken on the terrace. Our room was spacious,  comfortable and quiet. Perfect.

We had a memorable stay; beautiful surroundings, clean, attentive hosts and fabulous fine dining in the restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and our needs catered to without hesitation. Fantastic!!!! Thank you so much Bruno and Marj.

Exceptional host and accommodation

Bruno (and his assistant Thistle) were so welcoming that we felt as though we were staying with friends, rather than at a B&B. 

We had two airport runs to make, so as a treat had decided to stay at Les Palmiers rather than drive up and down the motorway twice in three days. Where I made a big mistake, was not checking in advance with Bruno that his restaurant was open on a Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Sadly they were changing their menu and as a consequence were not open either evening. Not the problem we thought it might be, as Bruno recommended two excellent places for dinner within walking distance. 

A few comments on our stay:

1) Though we had a room facing the busy main road, traffic noise was not an issue.

2) We had a couple of small requests regarding the room upon arrival. Bruno dealt with these very quickly. Thank you.

3) Whilst our room and the bed were small, we expected this would be so and it was not an issue. 

4) Our ceiling fan worked well, but during a local hot spell, traditional air conditioning would have been appreciated. Talking to Bruno this is a project he has in hand.

5) Tea making facilities were appreciated, however a few milk capsules would have been helpful. A British idiocyncracy. 

6) Do as we do and travel with an extension lead, as some hotels lack the requisite number of spare electrical power sockets, including Les Palmiers.

7) The charming town of Meze is only a very short walk from Les Palmiers. 

8) If you like Oysters take the boat trip around the bay. This is an Oyster town.

9) A large party had failed to arrive on time, so for breakfast we were the only ones. This limited what Bruno was able to offer us, but sitting outside on the terrace at the front of the hotel was very pleasant. 

10) Wifi was free and worked in our room. 

11) Plenty of secure car parking space.

Overall an enjoyable stay and one we will repeat.



Staying with friends.

This is a very nice place. The room had a nice balcony overlooking a garden. There is also a good restaurant, and breakfast is included with the room. The town is also quaint. Overall, this was a good experience, and I would stay here again.

Wonderful B&B

The hotel is a little quirky, but is very user friendly with Bruno and his staff making every effort to ensure guests are well looked after. The hotel is situated about 12mins walk from the Port where most of the action is, its on a fairly busy road, but set back and traffic not too intrusive. Decor is interesting shabby chic, rooms are not large but contain everything necessary. There are room fans but no A/C, most rooms appear to have balconys and a sitting area.
Breakfast is continental, but efforts have been made including a good range of homemade jams and unusual honey
Dinner was a triumph, with a real effort to use local products and wine, by far the best meal in Meze.
Compared to other hotels, Bruno and his staff offer a terrific option

Good value, attentive staff

Totally unassuming location on busy high street, behind the gates was a tranquil beautifully renovated boutique chambres d'hôtes. 
Met by the charming owner Bruno who speaks both French and English showed us our lovely large ensuite room with sun terrace.
Enjoyed a fabulous evening meal - separate review on restaurants- and equally lovely breakfast of fresh fruit, yoghurt, croissants, bread homemade jams and English breakfast tea
Will definately be back
