We did not stay in the Logis but we had lunch there in two occasions. The meal was properly done and nicely plated. Omelets with porcini was very good. Fried potatoes were super. Local white wine was real good. 4 persons we paid less than a hundred and were decently fulfilled. Toilets are clean and airy. Will certainly go back when we are in this region again.

We actually visited the restaurant 4 times over three weeks during our stay in Lot. Once for desert, once for drinks, and twice to eat. 

I would review the food as "can be good", but not excellent. I believe that this restaurant is rated correctly, about 3.5 / 5. But it was the best "plate de jour" we had on our trip (had 2 different ones on 2 different days), and we tasted some good deserts.

The staff was strange and hard to rate - but pretty cold and typical French. At first ignored, 2nd trip very nice, 3rd trip very rude, and last trip  nice. It's hard to tell with the French because they can get offended at anything, such as showing up towards the end of "eating hours" or not ordering espresso at the end of your meal :) There is a young waiter working who speaks decent English, but apparently, only when he feels like it (on our 3rd visit he refused to speak English for some reason)

In summary, I think its one of the better restaurants around Martel. You can expect a decent meal. Prices are steep unless you have plate de jour. The village or Creysse is picturesque and you can walk off your meal by hiking to the small church at the top.

We were booked at Auberge de L'ile by Sherpa Expeditions.  We had a cozy room with a nice view.  We didn't like the room at first sight since it was sort of stark and had two twin beds pushed together rather than a double, but we were completely won over by a good night's sleep in what turned out to be very cozy beds and by the great shower.  I enjoyed a delicious mushroom omelette, salad and fries for dinner, topped off by something chocolate that was also very good.

Cozy Room with a Nice View

My family spent 3 nights at the Auberge de l'll while exploring the Dordogne and Lot Valleys and found it to be an enchanting location. The village dates from the 1200s with many original structures still standing. In addition the natural beauty of the area is fabulous with a bubbling spring, singing birds, brimming flower boxes and the Dordogne river just a short stroll away. The hallways of the hotel were basic but our room had been newly done and was very clean and comfortable. We had some meals at the hotel because the terrace was such a lovely place to sit and drink wine, but the food was not quite as good what we found at local restaurants. The duck dishes were good however and the breakfast croissants were the best that we had on the whole trip. Internet was spotty in the room but pretty quick from the terrace and reception area.

Central Location in a Gorgeous French Village

lovely little hotel with river running through it.. great beer garden interesting picture post card town ..good food and excellent breakfast.. tip.. the owners son speaks perfect english with a interesting accent and is very helpful especially when ordering dinner

The Auberge de L'Ile is very good .
My son started off with a salad and a
Piece of duck terrine which was tasty. For main course, I had  a smoked samon salad, my husband 
had a duck salad and my son had a lovely homemade burger with fries. For dessert, my husband and I had an apple tart which was excellent.  My son had some strawberry ice cream. Overall, it was all very good -  they serve good food and are very polite. I would love to stay there for a night.
