I have dinned at the Restaurant on their lovely terrace, the view is beautiful and the ambience so peaceful. The food was outstanding and the efficient, friendly staff made me feel very welcome! I would definitely recommend this Hotel and Restaurant, close to the heart of Mimizan beach town yet tucked away under pine trees and a stones throw from a beautiful public flower garden walk - if you visit once you will surely return!

Beautiful setting, Classy Hotel, Friendly  staff and Wonderful food!!!

Just to say ..... if you are passing this way do use this hotel.  The proprietor Janet is the perfect host, the location is outstanding on the edge of Le Lac du Aureihan and Mimizan Plage about 4km away is beautiful and great fun!  Lots of super restaurants and great beach.  I wish we could have stayed longer.  Thank you to Janet and team for looking after us so beautifully, everything was perfect!

What a great find

This is a Very lovely hotel! Beautifull vieuw over the lake. English And French spoken . Rooms are big nice bathroom and a balcony were you can have your wine or so....
Breakfast is good!
At the lake there are a lot of things to do!
In the neighborhood there is a taverna where you have your dinner. Make reservations before you go.

Nice hotel!!!

A really lovely small and friendly hotel next to Mimizan Lake.
It has beautifully appointed rooms, with its own outdoor swimming pool, a bar where drinks can be purchased until early evening  and a lovely terraced area to enjoy them. The Lake has a very nice garden walk ( this is within 100mtrs from the hotel) with stunning flora there is also facilities such as paddle boarding and Hawaiian type boats for those wanting to participate again very close to the hotel.
Although there is no restaurant, a very good continental breakfast is available, at this quiet location. We hope to return on our way back from Spain next year.

Lovely setting and pleasant rooms. English-speaking staff (Well, they are English!) who are very pleasant.

But frankly it is overpriced by about 40% for this type of establishment where there isn't even a restaurant so you have to go out looking for somewhere to eat in the evening.

I wonder if having English owners has made them over-optimistic?

Pity. The original was closed for a number of years because they couldn't get the customers. At these prices but not really offering facilities to match their charges, I have fears for them.

Let's hope I am wrong.

Lovely situation but I worry for them

A lovely hotel off the beaten track and surrounded by a lake and magnificent gardens.
Very comfortable and clean hotel and very nice staff. We wished we had booked for a longer stay. Very nice gardens adjoining the property and in site parking free.

Very nice hotel in a great location. Very obliging owner and nice facilities

Most of you probably have not heard of Mimizan but the situation of this hotel is absolutely ideal for total relaxation. Mimizan is on the Atlantic coast of France close to Bordeaux, Arcachon and within reach of Biarritz one way and the lovely Dordogne the other. The lake is huge, stunning trees and foliage and plenty of space to explore at your leisure. We stayed there for one night on our way north then booked another three on our way back. Each room has either a balcony or a private terrace to enjoy. We watched fishermen arrive and set up, bikes ride over a nearby bridge and a riding school passing most days. It is heaven. Nearby Mimizan Plage has a host of great restaurants from pizza to oysters to fine food. 
However, the proprietor and staff are the main reason to return. We left our passports in the safe and they called us, arranged to send them on by courier and offered to drive 200 km each way if the post could not guarantee their delivery in time. Beat that!
