First class apero (Blue pastis!), excellent dinner, comfortable room and charming, helpful host. That'll do!
P.S. A little hard to find - only 2 small notices and those within a few hundred metres of the location.

A haven of rest after a terrible journey from the South

Spent a most amazing couple of days with Catherine in the beautiful A L'Ombre Bleue.  Catherines hosting is absolutely second to none, she could not do anymore for us.  We took are meals there and would advise anyone to do the same.  Fantastic French Cuisine made with the freshest ingredients served in a beautiful setting.  Safe and Secure. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to this area.

Calm, Quite and Beautiful

I enjoyed an incredibly restorative stay (after and before Paris-Brest-Paris) with Catherine who was the most perfect hostess. In fact I do not believe that I have stayed with a host/hostess who has been quite so attentive and considerate before. I took all of my meals here and they were delightful; created from exceptionally well cooked local produce. My 'little house' was well appointed with a spacious double bed and bathroom upstairs and a small sitting room downstairs. The air-conditioning unit was perfect when the evenings became a little warmer. I look forward to being able to return in the future.

Tranquility personified.

Catherine is a wonderful host and looks after us very well and her meals are delicious. We have missed staying here due to covid so it was lovely to be back to stay here again and share our meal with Catherine. The rooms are also very comfortable.

Return Trip As Good As Before

Wondeful place to stay with the most charming and kind host who also cooks like an angel! such a pleasure to sit in that beatiful garden reliving visits to nearby Chartres and Giverny. I will return!!

A stay at Catherine is like coming home! 
The room is very cosy (in danish we say “hyggelig”) and Catherine does everything to make sure you feel comfortable and welcome. I really enjoy my stay and can only recommend the place.

A little gem on the way back from the Pyrenees.
Looks like there are many cycle routes to use around the area too !

A truly lovely relaxing stay

Set in a beautiful peaceful village, only an hour from Paris, A l’Ombre Bleue is worlds apart from the capital! Catherine is not only a kind, generous host but she cooks the most delicious, authentic French meals; renowned for her chocolate dessert. . She loves company and meals around her table are most enjoyable. This was only our second visit but we were greeted like old friends. Our room was clean and very comfortable. We have already booked our third visit. Thank you Catherine.

Peaceful location

It was lovely. our host Catherine gave us a warm welcome. Our room was lovely and

It is close to Chartres nice to vist.

Verry Good

We very much enjoyed our stay with Catherine. We were warmly greeted and the accommodation was very comfortable. Dinner was a real treat, the food and wine was absolutely delicious. Convenient location for us on our journey home but next time we plan to stay for longer so that we can explore locally, especially Chartres & Versailles. Un grand merci Catherine!
