This small hotel really does deserve all the superlatives it's been given. We travel a lot and this boutique hotel is certainly one of the best places we have ever stayed. The hosts are charming, amiable and engaging, it's really like being house guests but certainly not over intrusive. The rooms are well thought out, comfortable and chic. Then there is breakfast, truly excellent. The home made brioche smothered in caramel sauce is to die for, accompanied by homemade jams, and delicious home grown fruits and well sourced yoghurt, fruit juice and pastries. If your in the area, treat yourself and go here.

First class contemporary boutique hotel

This was my first visit to Montcuq and was joyfully surprised by the charm and ambience of the village.  But what really made it special was my stay at Claude and Bob’s place.   Perfect in every way!!! Claude’s style is impeccable— not fussy or overdone, but lavishly chic and simple— just like her!   Her cooking and famous brioche are not to be missed.  Bob is a riot with a great sense of humor.  Yet one has all the privacy and relaxation deserved on such a trip.  The rooms are tasteful with luxurious bed and bath linens, and afford a great deal of comfort.  The bathroom was spacious with a tub to soak and relax in after a long day’s hike. The patio and garden area are delightful for relaxation or reading a good book.   A venture into the village is not to be missed. Stylish small boutiques with local crafts, a well-stocked pharmacy, and fabulous dining options abound.  Bob and Claude are very knowledgeable about setting you up with an itinerary to take in all the bounties of the nearby treasures not to be missed.  Looking forward to returning soon!

Perfetto in ogni modo!

Nestled on the famous compostelle hiking trail, Bob and Claude offer a unique and choice destenation. The beautiful médiéval village house offers an off the beaten path contemporary,  luxurious experience with a mid-range pricing.  This is a  trully an esthetic experience. Every room is beautifully decorated. The 100% linen multi colored sheets and comforters covers make for a true delight. Super clean and carefully designed. 
Our hosts were wonderful, They are discrret and yet very responsive to any needs we nay have. The breakfast is home made by Claude and is ready upon requested time,  
She makes the most delicious brioches and jams,  
Bob was very helpful with orienting us the region’s surroundings and gave us local recomendations for site seeing myst sees and best restaurant options. 
We will return!

Southwest village gem!

We spent four days here as we were invited to a wedding just outside the small town of Montcuq.  Hadn't bargained on where we chose to stay adding so much to our trip.  Bob sent me a text when our flight landed to give directions once we arrived in Montcuq giving a sign of the fantastic hospitality and attention to detail that was to follow. Bob and Claude have owned Four Maison D'Hotes for 9 years after leaving Paris and have created a home as stylish as themselves. I was able to view all the rooms and they are all beautifully furnished with high quality linens, interesting pieces of furniture and original art work. All have large bathrooms with free standing baths.  And always good to be trusted with a proper hairdryer rather than one of those attached to the wall versions.  Breakfast is a highlight - with Claude's homemade Brioche - look out for the recipe on YouTube and Bob's contribution of homemade preserves (and humour).  There is also a wonderful French country courtyard to sit in and relax.  If you can bear to leave the house then Montcuq has an abundance of life, with local craft and food shops and a very good restaurant.

Believe what you will have read about this place. It oozes style, as do its owners Bob and Claude. More friends than hosts they add to the perfection of the place. 
Make time to wander around and appreciate all that they have collected around them, artifacts that make this place like no other.
Claude’s famous breakfast brioche takes centre stage each morning - she is, after all, the Brioche Woman, an internet sensation.

Wonderful find

We landed in the area by coincidence - and were astonished by the beauty, history and life style of the region. Claude and Bob, who are truly wonderful hosts, made this 3 days getaway a succession of discoveries. Not much to add regarding the house (on top of all the positive comments already made by previous guests), it is a beauty and definitely worth discovering.
