The welcome we received from Daan and Clasine was superb, they could not have been more charming and friendly.  We were invited for drinks whilst they helpfully booked a restaurant for dinner.  The house is beautifully decorated, Clasine has fantastic taste and goes to great lengths to dress the house.  We stayed twice and both bedrooms were spacious with beautiful linen and air conditioning.  Breakfast is wonderful and Clasine cooks a different hot dish every day.  Daan is a most amusing and interesting host, we had some great discussions and felt we left as friends.  We would love to return in the future.

I wish all bed and breakfasts were like this

The first impression is a huge wow when you pull up to a house that looks like a mini chateau, clearly once a very influential house.

This continues into the house and the room I had was huge although as it faced onto the balcony where people sat it felt a little exposed.

The location is fantastic being a short walk into the restaurants in time and the hosts do their best to make you feel welcome, although being a reserved person this could feel intrusive and a little over bearing.

Although a great house and fantastic location I felt it was a little expensive.

We stayed with Clasine & Daan for a long weekend of exploring the region. To be honest, we’d chosen their hotel for its logistic convenience but their home, their engaging presence and the quality of their hospitality were the highlight of our trip. (Like everyone) we can be « picky » guests but there was nothing to criticize! We had a wonderful time : THANKYOU! 

Perfect Hosts

What a relief after our last 3-day stay in a boring chateaux in Rochegude, 20km South of Montelimar. This classy B&B is run by Dutch Clazien and Daan who decided to leave Holland some 8 years ago to settle themselves in the Nougat city of Montelimar. The old mansion was completely remodeled and redecorated very tastefully. The interior is even more beautiful than on the website pictures (.....they probably need a new photographer!!). Breakfast is served either in the dinner room or on terrace together with the other guests. Clazien is a talented baker so the breakfast is full of home-made pastries. There is a nice pool in the garden with comfortable sun beds. 

This place feels like a true warm bath; Thank you Clazien and Daan for the nice time we had together. We’ll be back!

Superb stay - Everything’s in place here

We stayed 4 nights at Villa Magnolia and have nothing but praise!

First, the Villa. It is immaculate and the grounds are so beautiful to sit, read & swim. They have installed an elevator which was appreciated, especially with our heavy luggage.

Second, location. It is located in a secure place with a private gate and parking.  You can walk to numerous great restaurants within a 5-7 minute walk.

Third, the rooms. They are spacious, air conditioned, with a comfortable bed and a huge Italian shower.

Fourth, the breakfast. They offered many choices, however the best were the various homemade jams and Clasien's special egg recipes.

Fifth, the caring people. Our best memories are the invitation for a drink on the terrace with our hosts.  Just chatting away and not having a care in the world was priceless.  Daan is so interesting and knowledgeable, we would always lose track of time.  Clasien is a sweetheart, always ensuring we had everything we needed.  She is so considerate that she tweaked her recipes and cook with soya milk because my husband is lactose intolerant.
Please note that both Daan & Clasien are trilingual in French, English and Dutch.

We shared special moments at Villa Magnolia and will highly recommend it to our friends and family.

...a little piece of heaven

There is nothing to dislike about staying with Daan and Clasien at the Villa Magnolia Parc in Montelimar. The attention to detail cannot be surpassed, a truly wonderful place to stay, relaxing, charming, welcoming and always a happy place to be!

Welcome return to Montelimar

On our way from Avignon to Chamonix in the Alps we explored the idea of staying over in a smaller village enroute.  Looking at Tripadvisor we stumbled upon this magnificent Chateau in Montelimar which was lovingly restored by our fabulous hosts Daan and Clasien.  Our bathroom was the size of some smaller apartments that we stayed in.  Daan and Clasien are multi-lingual and are very generous with their "must see" recommendations in the area.  We were treated to a fabulous sunset bottle of wine at which time we learned a lot about the character of Montelimar.  The Chateau is situated a stone's throw from the village promenade and the old town - all very convenient.  This is 5 star accommodation managed by Super Hosts and we can thoroughly recommend it to anyone travelling the South of France.

EXCELLENT SURPRISE IN MONTELIMAR

Given the choices of B and B in the region why stay in the same location twice ?

Villa Magnolia is not just a place to rest after a long days driving it is an enjoyable experience where meeting again the hosts Daan and Clasien is a delightful experience. You will meet like minded discerning guests from all over the Globe .The rooms were spacious as were the bathrooms . Air conditioning purred quietly and I slept like a king .
Breakfast was a feast to behold and to work your way through.

 There was real silver on the table which I do not have at home ,, of course I do now . 

My only criticism was that the towels were so fluffy I could hardly close my suitcase .

French elegance in a homely ambiance at offering real value for money .

A luxury B and B experience at a budget price especially for 2 people .

Loved this place.  Firstly because the room was fabulous with a huge bathroom.  Secondly because the welcome was fantastic and we were able to make a lovely dip in the pool on a very hot day.  Thirdly because we were recommended an excellent restaurant and fourthly because it was very good value for money  Breakfast absolutely delicious and very convivial with other guests   Definitely on our list to return.Thank you so much. 

Excellent value, excellent hosts, excellent room

We have stayed at the Villa Magnolia Parc 4 times now and have little doubt that we will stay there again. Daan & Clasien make you feel so welcome in their stunning home. Nothing is ever too much trouble. From the drinks and nibbles on the terrace to the delicious homemade breakfast. We couldn’t have asked for more. We took both my elderly disabled parents and they wanted to stay the week. Thank you so very much for your hospitality and we both appreciate the opportunity to stay at your beautiful home.
