Had the delight at staying at La Touche for one night last month. I found it through an online search and thought the pictures made it look like a nice place. It is in the middle of the countryside and I wasn't sure our old sat nav was taking us to the right place but it certainly was and it was an absolute delight. The pictures do not do the location justice and the peace and quiet was an added bonus. We were warmly greeted and shown to our room. It is an old house so the bathroom was across the hall. Really not an issue but I am sure it would not be to everybody's liking. It was a Sunday night so there was no dinner available at the guest house. They did however make a booking for us at the nearest open restaurant. Breakfast in the morning was sumptuous. It was a lovely morning so we ate outside, accompanied by the owners two dogs who were just delightful. The food was delicious and I for one could have spent all day there just relaxing. A great find.

What a find

Just been reading all the reviews of La Touche and there's nothing really to add. Any minor negatives I've read about are entirely countered by the setting, the welcome, the decor, the presentation, everything. The town of Chabris is five minutes drive away with bars, restaurants and the necessary distributeurs if you've run out of the cash you'll need to pay the bill. But it'll be worth every cent. 

Nothing more to be said

We stayed at La Touche which is somewhere outside Menetou-sur-Nahon for just the one night in June.  I wished we had been able to stay longer.  I expect this place would be classed as a Gite as the accommodation looked like tastefully converted barns.  It was an absolute gem.  The hosts were so very friendly and hospitable.  On arrival the husband opened the large gate for us to drive up the gravel drive through their large grounds/orchard.  
The wife showed us to our room which was large, light and very airy.  It was beautifully decorated in a country style. The rooms do not have numbers.  Ours was on the ground floor, second room along on the left.  I called it the Butterfly Room because our key had a butterfly keyring.    There was a large bed, ample storage space for clothes, huge mirror, large TV.  Don’t know if you could receive English speaking channels because we did not put it on.  Free wifi.  Our bedroom window had an insect guard on it so you could happily leave it open at night if you wanted.  
There provided lovely, thick dressing gowns.  These were needed because the en-suite is opposite on the other side of the corridor.  Sounds a bit odd but it was fine and I would not let this put you off staying here. The bathroom was modern with a huge, wet-room style, walk-in shower. There were thick white towels and a few complimentary toiletries.  Cleanliness of the rooms was excellent
The husband was very friendly and helped my husband to repair some trim on the back of our car which had been ripped off in a nearby carwash.  They owned two dogs who were delightful.  One was a nutty German Shepherd called Helios who just wanted to play ‘throw sticks’ with you but then would not let you have the stick back.  Then there was a sweet little dog called Julienne, I think.  We were fine with the dogs but I think the hosts keep them away if guests were not too keen on dogs. 
One word of warning, if you sit out at nights, take mozzi spray during summer months.  We did get a couple of bites but they were not bad ones. The grounds were lovely to walk around.  There were tables and chairs for set out for the guests. We sat out reading that evening with a bottle of wine that they provided and a basket of nuts.
Breakfast was included in the very reasonable room rate.  And, wow, what a breakfast.  The best I have ever had in France.  We ate sitting out in the grounds ‘al fresco’ on a table with white cotton tablecloth under a chestnut tree in the morning sun.  There was plenty of the usual continental buffet but also some delicious French cheeses plus a delicious warm apple tartin.  Fruit juice was served as a freshly mixed glass of fresh fruit juice beautifully decorated as a cocktail.  Eggs and bacon were also offered but we declined.  Everything was beautifully presented.  It was the best breakfast I have ever had in France – and I have had quite a few!
They do have a dining room if you wanted to eat indoors.
