Ok, so the hotel could benefit from a little bit of TLC in some areas but I am still giving it 5* based on incredible value for money.
The owner was super hospitable and happy to offer any help she could.
We had room 18 on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the front of the hotel. Room was spacious, clean, with a double and single bed.
Breakfast was good and available from 8am.
Ample parking outside.
Sizable ski/boot room that could be accessed from outside.
For those that don't know Morzine, the location is fantastic too. Only a few minutes walk from everything.
Ski bus stop was just a few minutes walk if you wanted to head straight to Avoriaz Prodains gondola.
Would happily stay here agin.

Morzine Ski Long Weekend

Giving Bonne Valette 4 stars out of 5 is perhaps generous as it is a somewhat ‘basic’ hotel in need of a bit of TLC. That said we have stayed there several times and would be happy to use it again, especially if budget is an issue.

It is a little quirky but has a certain charm about it and it main benefit is it’s central location in Morzine. If you’re after luxury or fine food then look elsewhere but otherwise if a simple and affordable stay is your priority then it’s a good option.

A good value and well located place to stay in Morzine

Great location, nice large rooms, friendly host and made very welcome. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends. Although the hotel is old and slightly tired, it is clean and tidy. The breakfast was lovely and so much choice. The bar was well stocked and nothing was too much trouble. Good car parking and safe and secure

Great location and good value for money

I stayed here with friends for a recent ski trip. It was great value, clean, tidy and perfect for what we needed. Comfortable bed and a good shower. Good breakfast and nice people. Good location too as in close proximity to the bars and restaurants in the heart of the resort as well as the slopes.

Great value hotel, good location

Easy to find. Free parking outside. Very pleasant hosts. Rooms are comfortable and tidy. Some slightly dated. Excellent breakfast and evening meal. Nice outdoor pool with grass surround and lounging area. Wifi ok but patchy in roof rooms. Storage room for our road cycles. I would certainly go there again.

Very nice family run hotel

I have just spent a week at the Hotel Bonne Valette and there is nothing I could fault about my stay. We received a really warm welcome upon arrival. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The food is outstanding, consistently good every single night. The rooms are a little old but they are cosy and comfortable. The water is hot. The hotel is centrally located with easy access to the ski lifts. The staff went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful. You are doing a wonderful job. Well done and all good wishes for the future.

Bonne Valette, C’est Fantastique!

This was a great find, 5 mins walk from the supermorzine lift and 10 mins walk from the pleney lift (which we could see from our room).
The room we had was spacious, basic but had everything you needed. The only downside to me was that the shower was a handheld off the bath.
The breakfast was plentiful for an extra 10 euro, cereal, pastries, ham, cheese, eggs etc.
Staff were friendly and helpful.

Great location for ski lifts

What makes this hotel special is the friendly atmosphere and the delicious, traditional French evening meals. The staff are all smiley and fun .Rooms are good for the price-there's a nice lounge area where you can play cards next to the bar. Really convenient for ski hire,Super Morzine lift , Spar and Carrefour.

Lovely evening meals

For whatever reason I wasn't expecting much from this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic and plentiful. Breakfast was a buffet of bread, pastries, cheese ham, eggs, fruit, yoghurts and cereal. The evening meal (part of the half board package) was normally a 3 course array of traditional french dishes. Oeuf en cochette, tartiflette, creme brulee, etc. Lots of cheese and ham.
Nothing was less than 2 stars whilst the vast majority of things were 3+ stars in my opinion. Room was perfect for what i needed. The hotel let me store a bike in the ski store. If i had to criticise anything, it woukd be the loud talking in French either late at night or early in the morning. I never worked out if this was the Hotel owners or other guests. It woke me a few times but it never went on too long and didn't disrupt me too much.

Excellent value for money

Once again I find myself in Morzine and once again I've no complaints!
The Bonne Valette is a family run hotel and felt very French (just what we wanted and expected).
Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly owners and upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and it was suggested that there may be a better room option for the 3 of us - we were shown what we had booked and then the suggestion - we picked the suggestion!
Breakfast only for us and couldn't fault it. Buffet, continental style - as much as you wanted - just what we were after. We ate in "burger-joints" for our evening meals - that's the "problem" with teenage boys I guess (well one of them at least!!) - so can't comment on the evening meals at Bonne Valette.
Our room(s) were 1 and 2, with 1 being a twin with a shower room and 2 being a small double with a shower and WC - the reason they suited us so well were the fact that they were adjoining (although they had separate doors behind the single entrance door) - so perfect for families of 3-4.
Both rooms shared a large open terrace balcony (with 2 or 3 other rooms) that had fabulous views up the valley towards Prodains and beyond and caught the sun all day (although that's an educated guess as we were out skiing ALL day - again a teenage boy "problem"!)
Great location with only a 5 minute walk to the Tourist Office / ice rink area.
Would I recommend you go there - no, never, don't go..... I only say that so there will be rooms for me next year - in seriousness it's everything I say above and highly recommended.
Lastly, to the Bonne Valette, "thanks for having us - we hope to return next season!"
