This was a 2-night stop with breakfast and dinner on the first night to recover after a long drive from the Spanish Pyrenees. We cancelled dinner on the 2nd night as the first night's was so poor. A Belgian couple and his elderly, quite charming father had been there some days and were staying on. The hosts obviously treated them favourably. Dinner was a very poor offering of slice of pork with boiled potatoes. The host served himself a good plate of food and my husband was given mostly potatoes. At breakfast the next morning we felt we were being rationed to a few dried and cold pieces of toast. The whole experience felt tight and on a budget which this establishment is not. It is certainly not cheap. The hosts should not offer food until they have more experience. The company at the table on the night we dined was charming however. The swimming pool would be a great attraction to those with children. It is a long way from anywhere but Le Puy en Velay is beautiful and well worth the effort. The house is very pretty but we shall not return.

Disappointed

We stayed four nights at the delightful La Bauissonniere. Pascal and Nadine were welcoming and friendly hosts. Their house is a  fabulous 18th century country home. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was immense with good facilities. Les petits dejeuners were up with the best we have enjoyed in France. Meeting other guests over breakfast was a highlight, despite our limited French. We enjoyed two superb evening meals cooked by the talented Nadine with attentive service by Pascal. The lentil soup, truite and crème brulee are especially memorable.

Super accommodation in Haute Loire

The hospitaliry of the guests is great! We spent 2 nights at la buissonniere including our 2 breakfast and 2 diner; wonderfull atmosphere. Near compostelle; we share a diner with trekers and have had interesting conversations (Us as Canadian an others as French and Italien). During the day; we went to Puy en Velay; a real great discovery to see! A must go; great house , well renovated with a large garden and animals .

This is a place you must go; a quiet dream integrated in a respectfull nature !

We had a very enjoyable three days in this extremely comfortable chambre d'hote. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. We met interesting people at the dinners. The hosts were gracious and were very helpful in directing us to local sites. I would recommend this peaceful spot to friends.
