My stay at La Rebiere d’Or was simply perfect.  As others have described, the home is stunning and decorated in a grandiose, flamboyant style that filters all the way through the guest bedrooms and bathrooms.   The attention to detail made me think I was staying in the family’s private quarters (as opposed to a let room) - there seemed to be no difference in the decadent aesthetic from the private bedrooms to the more public areas.   And speaking of public areas, the grounds include a beautiful pool area, terraces and picnic areas, all overlooking the Dordogne River. Breakfast was also delightful, and served in grand style with silver service, ornate tea pots, fresh flowers and of course fresh pastries from the boulangerie!

Like living in Architectural Digest (with breakfast!)

Wonderful property, very traditional and lovingly refurbished.  Views over the river from the bedroom and from the garden where breakfast (included) is served at a time of your choice.  Off street parking.  Very delightful hosts who manage just the right blend of helpfulness and non-intrusiveness.  Absolutely captures the charm and grace of Dordogne riverside life.  The little village of Mouleydier is not big on resources, but Bergerac, a significant metropolis with charms of its own, is only 10-15 minutes drive away.

Christina and her husband were very welcoming and helpful during our 2 night, 3 day stay in the Bergerac area.  The house is furnished in a way that reflects both Gerrard and christina’s work and design flair.It is unusual so if you want contemporary and simplicity this may not be for you. However it’s definitely worth a visit. you won’t be disappointed. Parking is secure. Breakfast delicious and unusual!

Although named a B&B, it is more accurately described as a treasure house full of fine, expensive furniture and objets d'art and is an 'Art Gallery With Rooms' and as such is probably unique in the world of holiday accommodation. The location is perfect with a wonderful view of the Dordogne, breakfast is a pleasant, basic continental but be aware, bed making is DIY, although delightful Catherine said it could be made on request, which we declined. She could not have been more pleasant or helpful and made several local restaurant recommendations and reservations, all of which were excellent. Caution; our rented car sat-nav insisted we went the wrong way down a one-way street on which the property is located.

Amazing place Superb Hosts

The hosts Catherine and Gerard welcomed us into their beautiful home where we stayed for four days. Their hospitality was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Catherine helped with restaurant suggestions and bookings. 
The interior was full of wonderful and quirky  bric a brac and antiques. There are choices of two rooms available and a git which sleeps up to 6 and has its own facilities for cooking and laundry. The monkey room and the elephant room both have a beautiful views overlooking The Dordogne river. The rooms were spotlessly clean. The grounds are enchanting and features a good size swimming pool which was spotlessly clean. 
Breakfast was lovely with home made jams, yoghurts and fresh flowers on the ladies place setting every morning which was a lovely little touch. They have 3 peacocks in the garden and a beautiful black Labrador called Jason who we fell in love with. 
You will not be disappointed in this little hidden gem. We felt very at home and would not hesitate to return.

Wonderful stay at this lovely chateau

We stayed 3 nights - too short! The house is an old chateau, lovingly restored and looked after by Catherine and her team. Lots of interesting artifacts, decorations and antique furnishings throughout the house - some quite quirky! We had the "monkey room", a fine spacious room with views over the river - I think all rooms have the river view. The location is stunning, and the garden is large. Catherine was very helpful and welcoming, taking time on our arrival to explain the local attractions and restaurants in the area, and helped with our bookings too.
The Pleyel grand in the drawing room where we had breakfast was an unexpected bonus, beautifully looked after - and in tune!

A beautiful expansive chateau with a warm welcome and fine outlook over the river

I stayed at the Rebiere d'Or for one week with my fiancé and our mothers while we were in the area planning our wedding. I can't say enough positive things about it-- Everything was absolutely lovely! Monsieur and Madame Fournel are truly wonderful people and amazing hosts. They were incredibly kind and welcoming and gave us great recommendations for where to eat and what to do in the area. They even recommended a great wine merchant and florist for our wedding! They really made us feel welcome in their home. The house itself is absolutely stunning and is filled with beautiful antiques, and the grounds are immaculate. It was truly one of the most wonderful travel experiences I have ever had. Highly recommended.

This B&B is like an Antique Museum!

Catherine is a very nice lady who welcomes you into her ‘home’ - and this is important to remember that it is her ‘home’. As she said ‘this is not a hotel’.  However the price reflects a hotel and not a B&B so it is confusing.

Perhaps our fault for not reading between the lines but this is a character place without the mod cons of a hotel. The Elephant Double Room in the house does not have a balcony and only a hand held shower over a bath - no shower curtain. 

Nice grounds and great location overlooking the river.  Swimming pool looked good with nice furniture, but weather turned during our June trip and hence not warm enough to use it.  No drinks or food available at the property.  Pub within walking distance (5mins) - limited menu. Taxi into Bergerac an extortionate one way E25 for a 10mins. journey.

Recommendation: look closely at the pictures to ensure that this is the type of place you’d like to stay.
