If you ever dreamt of staying in an authentic historical chateau, you can fulfill your dream here. The place is somewhat worn down by all the years, but offers a real feel for an old chateau, with period furniture and decorations. Lovely couple from Lebanon was taking care of us while we were staying there, and they were super friendly and helpful.

Chateau takes you back 200 years and offers a historical experience

This was a bucket list experience for me. Waking up in a chateau in the Loire Valley to a beautiful breakfast in a private room was a dream come true. For my husband who is not so excited about chateau, it was "meh". So, it depends on your perspective. 

I agree with an earlier review that it has a bit of faded beauty, but I think that's the charm. I wanted to be in a place where I could imagine all the earlier familes who took their breakfast in the same space.

We had the Loius XV suite which had ample space for 3 and a gorgeous view. There was plenty of parking. The breakfast was delicious and generous. 

Experience chateau life

Beautiful welcoming chateau on the banks of the Loire.  Very comfortable, perhaps you might say ‘faded elegance’.  Been in the same family for many generations. Wonderful hosts who could not have done more for us.  

Huge terrace with plenty of furniture, wonderful to watch the sun go down. Highly recommended.

Beautiful, charming chateau

The Chateau de Chambord is located on the Loire River.  Very picturesque.  The rooms have antique furniture which provides a nice ambience.  But what was really special was the dinner prepared by our host.  We started at 8pm in the parlor with drinks and getting to know our fellow hotel guests.  We had couples from the US, Mexico, Iran, and South Africa, and our French host.  What wonderful diversity!  We then went to the dining room for multiple courses that were so good!  We then moved back to the parlor for after dinner drinks.  During all this time we had incredible interaction, learning about each other's country and generally opinions on the status of the world.  We finally broke up at midnight! A very magical evening coordinated by our host, and one of the highlights of our trip to France. Note: The dinner is not done every night so if interested you might want to call first.

A Memorable Evening

Our stay at the Chateau was very enjoyable. The host, Didier, made us feel most welcome and was very attentive. He prepared an excellent dinner for 10 people and the evening was rounded off with complimentary drinks in the drawing room. The accommodation was very comfortable and the property is centrally situated for a tour of the Loire Valley. We definitely recommend this property.

Excellent hospitality

Sadly, we only had one night in this charming place.  Our room on the main floor was spacious with beautiful furniture and attractive wallpaper. If you understand the beauty of an aging woman, this 300 year old property is for you.

Perfect!

This is a small Chateaux with a very friendly owner and staff. There were just 4 rooms occupied and we all had dinner together along with a talk about the history of the Family and Chateaux. It was really nice to mix with people from different countries.

Central Loire

We recently stayed a couple of nights at Chateau de Colliers. The chateau has a delightful ambience with our room at the front looking over the Loire river & beyond. The room had two semi separate bedrooms with an ensuite off one & tables & arm chairs ideally placed for having a drink overlooking the beautiful river. The breakfasts were good & we had an enjoyable dinner with other guests one night. Our bedroom, as did the dining & living areas of the chateau, had the ambience we were looking for in this part of the country & the service at the chateau was excellent. The room was spotlessly cleaned every day. We would highly recommend this chateau for a short stay if you are passing through the Loire Valley. As a bonus it is close to famous chateaux of the Loire open to the public.

Beautiful Location

We stayed here for 3 nights in late May. The Chateau is situated on the bank of the Loire River at the end of a long drive way lined with tall trees. It’s a quiet place 10 km from the nearest town Blois. 

THe 5 or so guest rooms are fairly large, with a bath and toilet in the room. Very clean, comfortable, with large windows that you can open. The hotel has free WiFi. 

Breakfast is served in the large dining room with the floor to ceiling windows facing the river and the sunrise. 

The hotel manager, Didier, speaks English, is very friendly and accommodating. The hotel has been in his family for 100s of years. He takes to heart the business of making his guests feel welcome and comfortable. 

Once a week he makes dinner for all the guests and it’s a great experience to stay here and it’s close to many famous Chateaux in the area.
