Nice potential for this old hotel in the process of restoration which now hosts bands. Perfect in the heatwave period, its old walls have kept us cool, except for the 2nd floor which is under the roofs and where the sun is hitting the corridor velvet. Fortunately, at night it is cool and the temperature can be lowered. The hotel is close to the city center, perfect for trying out the local restaurants and the various shops nearby. On the other hand, the rooms give us on a crossroads everything that is very passing, even at night and especially early in the morning, with more beautiful trucks to access the containers located nearby. However, we have found it very difficult to return the bathroom to the newly renovated rooms, because it seems to be very convenient for people to go to the bathroom, and it may not be possible to make a very nice way to get to the bathrooms located nearby.

It's not a hotel anymore, it's a group home.

I have stayed in this hotel several times. This time I came to test the lodging room rental. We brought our laundry, we were able to use the common kitchen, the comfortable living room with the fireplace, and the rooms were always cozy and quiet. We had booked the whole hotel, the children had fun in the corner and on the terrace. The owners had booked us a thermostat and evening meals. They welcomed us with a very pleasant appetizer, giving us all the tips on activities for both adults and children. For vacation I recommend this formula!!! We feel at home, in a beautiful environment.

Good potential for this old hotel, we spent a great week in this area with the family for the holidays but unfortunately it is also occupied by bed bugs!!! stop your suitcases on your way back!

Damage

A nice quiet stay in an old but well-maintained hotel and above all very clean, the owners very pleasant and attentive to the customer.

Looking for a night out for a little skiing stay at the Lioran resort which by the way has evolved well I discovered this nice little corner in Murat. A simple but quality table and very well renovated and pleasant rooms. With a very willing and motivated team who can be felt loves their region and sounds very good advice. A nice surprise to discover for an affordable price.

I was surprised.

We spent 4 nights in September at the Hotel les Volcans, it was a nice surprise! The rooms are clean and tastefully refurbished, breakfast is very nice, simple, but very good quality and organic products. Nathalie and Florent; the hotel owners are lovely and gave us excellent advice to make the most of our stay (walks, farm tours, etc.)! We thank them again for their hospitality and kindness;- We recommend this hotel!

Pleasant stay, very good quality price ratio

next to shops and center town of Murol. Great stay.
The rooms were small but very clean. There bathroom was big but no shower curtains.
Free parking and good wifi. There was not always reception at the desk, you have to do check in out at breakfast or dinner time.

Volcan center

Without being luxurious or flashy, the hotel is impeccably clean and well placed for exploring the area. Proximity to the town centre is a bonus after hard days in the hills. The proprietors are helpful and friendly - we were given good advice on excursions and they kindly put the Rugby World Cup on the TV in the bar. Kids were well catered for by a selection of games. Wifi also very useful and the breakfasts notable for their quality (including home made jams). Puzzled but grateful that our stay was so cheap.

Basic but great value hotel

After a 500km drive we arrived to se an Open sign on a locked door. 1 1/2 hours and a couple of a annoyed phone messages (calls went straight to answering machine) later, the owner showed up. In no hurry to let us in, he told us this was a family-run hotel and that we should calm down. I said that we'd be a lot more relaxed if we had the room we'd booked, to which he replied we could always go somewhere else. Which we did, with no regrets. Definitely the worst welcome we've ever experienced at a hotel.

So unwelcoming we went elsewhere

Nathalie and Florent are the friendly, genial hosts who run this little gem of a hotel. One always feels welcome here - they even serve their own homemade yoghurts and jams for the guests' breakfast whenever a new batch is ready. Florent also loves having soft jazz music in the background, which makes the ambience very homely and peaceful. The rooms are clean and warm - and the location is perfect, being in the heart of Murol itself. 

Nathalie tells me that this hotel is their dream and they bought it over just over a year ago, having worked in the hotel business for over 10 years previously. So they know how to treat guests well and we were very thankful that we picked this hotel. 

Highly recommended, especially for visitors to the region. There is a free car park as well.
