I created account here literally over this place, because my review in HostelWorld did not go through... I stayed for a few nights in the dorms, the Hostel part of the hotel, and not only was it by far the worst experience I ever had in a hostel but by far the most expensive. 

I needed to be in Nice over the weekend and this was 1 of the 2 places available so I gave it a shot. €50 euros a night, twice as much as any regular hostel, and literally the worst I've ever been in. Anyway I will try to keep it short. Besides good location, there was nothing positive about this place. 

Room: There is a massive problem, 2 power outlets for a 6-person room and none were next to a bed. Everyone had to battle for some time to charge their devices which literally creates a problem for your daily activities. Not only did I not feel safe in the room with a big group of 5 people taking up all other beds, but when they left they stole my phone charger whilst I slept. This is beyond ridiculous and it is very clear this place is not suited to have dorm rooms. 

The room had no curtains so you wake up everyday at 7am; No-one keeps control of the beds that are being used so the owner walks in the rooms everyday. I can't imagine how this is like in the women-only rooms... 

Bathroom: Shower door did not close which led the floor to be all wet; No curtain in the window facing a different hostel's patio; No hand soap/bar. They hand new towels daily, and I would get towels with someone else's hair on it. This is disgusting. 

Shared area: Hostel description said parties every night. This is a straight up lie, there was no activity whatsoever in the "social" room; the kitchen was dirty and I literally had to ask for a spoon at the reception as they did not even have that. 

Vibe: When I did my check-in I was startled with how discontent the receptionist was. He barely understood English, did not give me a wifi password and looked angry. I read multiple reviews and saw with my eyes some other receptionist (I assume the owner) giving private rooms and wine bottles to young women, specifically.

I go into Hostels already expecting a modest experience, but this place was a joke, bad enough that I need to let out the anger I have over having chosen this place... They do not even have pictures of the dorm rooms in HostelWorld and I now understand why. Do not come here. If you do be prepared for moldy walls and lack of higiene everywhere, horrible rooms with little conditions and a cold environment everywhere (and to pay a ridiculous amount of money for it at the same time).

The most expensive and worst hostel I've ever been in

We stayed in a private room with a private bathroom. The bathroom itself was horrifying, the ceiling had so much mold that it was hard to breathe in there. Our bags were searched while we were out and the area surrounding the hostel is rough. Go somewhere else!!!

The room was moldy and looked like it was renovated by the cousin who decided to become a renovator and did it as a favor to the owner 😂.

A lot of items in the room were destroyed, and the walls had visible damage and holes everywhere, and it wasn't clean.

The tv does not work, the wifi does not work, the only thing that did work was the AC. If you read this and still book a room there, it s on you.



I ve been in military dormatories that were in a better condition than this hostel.

We arrived late at night and check in was okay. We weren’t given a lot of information. The rooms were not ideal at all. We booked an 8 bed dorm and there were only 3 beds which was strange. We had just come from a long day of travelling and needed to charge our things but there was no plug for either of our beds. The lightbulbs in the room were screwed out so the only light was the big room light. The beds were so uncomfortable also. The curtain in the room didn’t shut. The bathroom was so small it was impractical. The toilet had a wall right in front of it so you needed to sit sideways. The shower was right next to the toilet which was annoying to get in to the shower which didn’t have a wall mount either! The kitchen was alright and had a toaster, microwave and a hob. The location was good and close to shops and the train station. The only good thing to be honest was the staff as they were very friendly and chatty and offered to give us our own room for the remainder of our stay. This was nice but it didn’t last as someone joined us in the room the next night. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend as I feel you could get better!

Bad Hostel

It was an "ok stay" in a 6-bed dorm room which although "somewhat crowded" was one with a "big desk" (to get things done outside the bed).  So, just an average accommodation in itself suitable for a "short stay" in my opinion (but yes to be fair also with a "reasonable rate here" in a popular seafront city like Nice!), the best about this place actually is the "area around" which really is quite a vibrant one with plenty of establishments for miscellaneous shopping (among which my suggestion for food being the "2 small restaurants", one Arabic & one Chinese, and yes also the McDonald's, all three just within a few-minute walk from this place) and also where the Nice-Ville train station is just about a 5-minute walk away (so quite easy for my "day trip" to Monaco taking a direct train to Monte Carlo).  And not too nearby, but also not too far from this place (just about a 10-minute walk) is the city's "main square" Place Massena with some beautiful heritage buildings around it and from which the city's waterfront is just a further 5-minute walk (mostly a "pebble beach" though with just a "tiny sand" area).

Worst hostel ever. The card reader was broken and I had to walk for a long time to find an ATM since I did not carry hundreds of Euros on me. Our room had bed bugs and overall the place was nasty. I got stuck in the elevator and no one was at the front desk to assist me. When I finally got out they did not seem the least bit concerned. If you value your health, safety and time do not stay here. Totally ruined my time in Nice.

Stay away

It was perfect! I am 25 years old and I found many people my age. The staff is always present and very friendly. Also, the hostel is close to the train station in Nice which takes you to all the other cities nearby such as Monaco, Cannes and Saint Tropez. I will definitely stay there again.

We booked a 6 bed dorm in this hostel (hotel?) and when we entered the room noticed that we had been upgraded to a double room. Nice surprise after our three week cycling trip. They also had no problem with us storing the bicycles there overnight and they were safe in the courtyard. Overall clean and basic room but all you can expect for this price! Staff were nice and the courtyard is nice to sit in. It's also very close to the beach and shops. The restaurants close by are great too. We didn't have breakfast but it looked basic as in other hostels I would assume. Overall, can definitely recommend this hostel/hotel.

-The receptionist staff were nice at check in (gave me a croissant and OJ) and Dan was approachable and understood and speaks English. .
-I got a free upgrade (but wasn't really an upgrade, see below).
-Good shower water pressure.
-Comfortable mattress.
-I like having the bathroom in the room.
-Air-conditioner (see below).
-There is a lift.
-Provided towel and sheets

Dislikes
-Bad wifi in rooms and common areas, lots of drop outs and really slow.
-There is no age limit even though it's advertised as <40yrs, i had a 65yr old lady in my room that was absolutely crazy, controlling and verbally & physically abusive. I asked to be changed to another room and they didn't have anywhere to move me or her to. There wasn't any other available accommodation in nice at such short notice for me to change to.
-Couldn't use the air-conditioner because of the crazy 65yr old lady (^^)
-Room was so hot. 
-Only 2 lockable draws in a 3 bed room, despite advertised otherwise.
-Not great for meeting people. 
-Small kitchen.
-Toilet doesn't flush with the button. Have to manually pull the lever under the hood on the back of the toilet.
-Shower doesn't doesn't drain the water very well, the bottom of the shower fills with water up to your ankles.
-No power outlets near the bunk beds.

Mostly crap

the worst place i have ever stay in EU never choose it. location is good but totally hostel is not clean and under the beds full of bugs and rubbish, have not comfortable beds and very dirty toilet and shower.
