very close to town (5 minutes walk downhill)
great view of the sea and Landing Beach Gold
owner friendly
hillside location therefore lovely breezes to keep you cool

Cons:

plumbing in bathroom very smelly
furnishings tired
tight manoeuvres to park your vehicle
breakfast adequate but of motel quality
three flights of steps to some rooms (no lift)
no help with luggage
owner nice but doesn't speak English 

We have stayed in many hotels/B&Bs in France and the breakfast is usually local produce and home made jams etc. Eggs and cold meats are available too, but not at this accommodation. We got the impression owner was doing things on a shoestring and hadn't invested much in the building and it's contents. For the money, there are equally good if not better places BUT they won't be as convenient and in the end I think that is what you are paying for.

Pros and cons

Perfect location, quiet spacious room, breathtaking view, good breakfast, excellent wifi and perfect parking. The owner of the hotel is very friendly. We really enjoyed every minute of our stay. Surely we will return. 

Great Tranquil Hotel

This hotel is beautiful quaint in only the way a French hotel could be. The views are absolutely stunning and the walk up the hill was definitely worth it. 
We stayed in the family room and the only criticism I would have is that a double bed and two singles would be better than two doubles. The decor is very traditional and although we didn't stay for breakfast we would definitely stay again. 

Lovely hotel

Ideally located for visiting wartime Normandy beaches, with Arromanches overlooking Gold Beach, and Bayeux just a few miles south. Not easy to find and although there is car parking, the access and egress demand a fair degree of  skill with the steering wheel!
A distinctly individual, not to say quirky, house, on three floors, with wide, winding stairs and no lift, and several differently-sized rooms and suites.
M & Mme Lecomte are warm, friendly owners and provided excellent breakfasts, including fresh, warm croissants, batons, a variety of mini cheeses, fruit pots, yogurts and plenty of butter and conserves, plus Nutella and honey.Tea, coffee or hot chocolate were available, along with orange juice to wash it all down! (Breakfast included in prices)
An impressive array of furniture all over the house gave it a period feel and one expected Poirot or Maigret to appear at any moment.
Perhaps too many (working!) grandfather clocks, some near bedrooms...
Two large Alsatians were docile and friendly and not allowed in the breakfast room. 
Two friends had a double room with adjacent, private, but separate bathroom. We were upgraded to a suite (still not sure why!), with two huge bedrooms, easy chair, sofa, storage and a massive bathroom with an ultra-modern, two-person shower, four foot long washbasin and large heated towel rail.
Kettle and tin of drinks, sweets and biscuits provided, but oddly, no milk or teaspoons! We asked for two, which were promptly removed by the maid the following morning!  Hot chocolate sachets were superb however, sans lait.
Perfect for 1, 2 or 3 nights. Walking distance to town which boasted shops, D-Day Landing Museum, bistros, bar and the Hotel de La Marine with a very good restaurant.

Comme ci, comme ca!

I cannot make up my mind if this was incredible or awful. We spent a night here in August 2015 while taking in the Normandy beaches. It is essentially an old house operating as a B&B and there are no frills. 

There is a bizarre selection of grandfather clocks, lamps and other knick knacks that are in every corner. The clocks were quite handy for letting me know it was five am. My room was done in a bizarre oriental motif complete with a giant fan above the bed. The whole experience was just bizarre but you might fancy it...

On a practical level, there was not a light on past eleven, they don't take credit cards and the breakfast is bread or yoghurt.....
