This apartment has all the basics you’ll need to sleep before spending a day visiting the many stunning nearby wineries - comfortable bed, decent sized apartment, clean, friendly staff.

I have rated this five stars, but would go more towards the 4.5 star rating.
What we loved - 

- the uniqueness of the experience, it’s not very often you get to stay in an old wine cellar that’s been done up into a modern apartment but still keeping some of the charm of the history 
- vicinity to the town centre which is walking distance and a great hub to start touring the local wineries 

What we didn’t love
- not an issue for us, but I would warn against staying here if any mobility issues. The stairs down to the bedroom are steep, and if you need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night it may present a challenge 
- reception payment issues - we opted to pay at property, but we were charged before we even arrived. Also this was charged to our usual card, so worse exchange rates and international transaction fees. The staff couldn’t do anything about this which was very frustrating 
- no real breakfast places close by. There’s a cafe (only plain croissants) and bakery but nothing much else. It would be nice if the accomodation offered a pay per stay breakfast package, even if this was ordered in advance would be useful for guests

Unique underground cellar stay

This apartment style hotel comes with a kitchenette, dishes, stove, refrigerator and a washing machine - none of which we used.    There are restaurants and a good bakery nearby.   The room was adequately sized and the staff was very accommodating.  Our stay came with a tour and tasting at the family run Bernard Rion, which was a very worthwhile visit.   Owner was very friendly,

Comfortable place

We’ve stayed before & even had the same appt. Room is nicely appointed, bed was very firm but decent size. Shower is way too tight & waterfall shower head floods the bathroom as it’s too big. Heating was good. 

What disappointed us was that we were contacted to ask when we would be arriving as someone would come to greet us. We called to advise & had a pleasant welcome but the reception was immediately closed up. The building appeared empty apart from us Although I’m hoping another room was occupied as someone had left the front door open when we got back at 9pm. For €100 it wasn’t a great experience. It’s a handy location for a visit to NSG but the town is dead in late Feb, especially on a Monday night. Stay in Beaune instead.

Poor value for money this visit

Luxurious, compact, calm, quiet and very comfortable. Every space is used perfectly in these stylish apartments, with perfect attention to detail. There is no lift so if you have difficulty with stairs it’s worth asking for accommodation on the ground floor. Supervised public car park just down the road with surveillance cameras. Minor (very minor) request would be for some milk pods to go with the complementary tea and coffee. Would happily have stayed there for several nights. Thoroughly recommend. Merci!

Delightful

The Vign’ Apartments are a collection of clean, high-spec rooms of varying size in the centre of Nuits-Saint-Georges. A word of warning when booking rooms. My husband and I stayed in the La Vougeot room, which was very small (barely enough room to open a suitcase). Not really suitable to use the cooking facilities due to the lack of space, which was a shame. Parking is available in a public car park around the corner but not on-site. However we enjoyed our stay here. The owners were very friendly and helpful and it was a good base for a short stay in Burgundy. If you are looking for a longer stay, then we would recommend staying somewhere like Beaune, as there is more to do within walking distance and a better selection of restaurants.

Great staff, modern fitted apartment, beware of room choice

We stayed in a small appartment with the bedroom underground in a cellar. Huge, comfortable bed, nice aircondition (it was 37 degrees outside!), clean, moden, fresh  room. Amazing breakfast, friendly staff, great location and nice value for money. 

Small but unique hotel 

Very nice accommodation in the heart of NSG. Would definitely recommend a stay here in this very modern accommodation.  Friendly check in. We stayed in the mersault room which was well equipped & had enough space for the 2 of us. I do feel though that it is a waste of such a room to have a kitchen in it & also a washing machine in the bathroom. I’d rather that the room was a spacious luxurious bedroom without the self catering extras. However that’s us & I’m sure the owners have calculated just how many people use the facilities. Powerful shower but very tight for space & floods the bathroom when switching on, if you’re not careful!

Parking nearby, loads of local dining options & good accommodation make this a perfect stop off place. Only negative was that you could hear everything being said downstairs at reception when you were lying in your bed at 8am. Sound proofing could be better, although it was a very quiet hotel otherwise.

Well worth a stay

We stayed in the Chambertin apartment for 3 nights recently. The little apartment was neat as a pin, with lots of space saving ideas....but the living / kitchen area was very small. It would be great if you only had small bags because the downstairs bedroom area was quite spacious .It was difficult for us travelling with larger bags due to the steepness of the stairs leading to the bedroom ( almost ladder like ). The bathroom is located on the upstairs level , so the steps may need to be negotiated in the middle of the night. The young couple who run the hotel are delightful and very helpful. Free car parking at a public car park about 200 metres away.  Easy walk to train station for easy access to the centre of Dijon or Beaune.

Clean and compact base in Burgundy

Rooms are luxurious nicely furnished where modern amenities meet old house character.
Bed is nice.
Small kitchen does the job.
The young couple operating the place is amazingly nice and spare not effort to make sure you stay is perfect.

Amazing stay

My dad and I stayed in the Vougeot room for 1 night and to be honest, I think that was the maximum length of time we could stay here. I’ve subsequently found out that the Vougeot room is only 15m2, so it is a very small room for just 2 people. There’s not much space at all if you include your luggage as well. The bathroom and shower are also very small. There’s no escalator facilities and the room’s air-conditioning wasn’t working when we were there. WiFi is quite unpredictable, particularly on the window side of the room.

The room itself was very clean and had nice modern finishes and it has good facilities for such a small space.

Breakfast wise, it was well presented, but not a large selection as compared to the other 3 hotels that we stayed at in the area. The host was very friendly and spoke good English.

Maybe the other rooms are different, but I’d only recommend this room for a person travelling alone and definitely not for 2 people.
