We stayed at Le Chat Rouge over the weekend and absolutely want to recommend this place. The hosts are incredibly nice and the room was one of the nicest we stayed at. Extremely clean, greatly designed and very spacious with the most comfortable bed. The room has floor to ceiling windows with an uninterrupted view on the valley. Simply stunning. It was equipped with aircon, which was great as the temperature outside reached 39 degrees during our stay.  We were there to bike and the host gave us great route recommendations. His wife was also incredibly nice and gave us perfect restaurant and winery recommendations. 
The room has no TV which is actually quite a nice change. 
The house is located in a small town that is remote enough so all you hear is the nature but close enough (just a few km) to great tourist locations such as Kaysersberg, Colmar, Eguisheim, Riquewihr and the White and Black lakes.
Perfect location for a simple yet luxurious break.

Fantastic guest house, with fantastic hosts

We pulled up in the car and were enthusiastically welcomed by Maurice - the owner who has put exceptional love into the conversion of his house.  An ongoing project!

Our apartment (you can't really can it a room) sas on the top floor - with its own seperate entrance from the parking area, across a bridge into the house.

Maurice is an exceptionally clever man - done most of the work himself, and he clearly has a vision - you can tell he's proud of the house, and he should be, the conversion and attention to detail is outstanding. The room consisted of a kitchen area, with fridge, freezer, dishwasher and combined microwave and oven - open-plan to the lounge with floor to ceiling windows and that outstanding view.

This is a loft conversion on an epic scale - there's another apartment going on beside it, which Maurice was working on while we were there. 

The plus with the layout is the space - lots of it, and after a week of staying in 'rooms' it was nice to have a lounge and the ability to cook. The negative is that the bedroom is up a set of stairs, further into the loft space - leaving very little headroom to do anything other than crawl into bed.  It also meant that night-time visits to to bathroom were extremely precarious.  The design and staircase look great, but compromise on safety - clearly only suited to adults in my view, and fit, able adults, too. 

The surroundings were just beautiful - we had a memorable evening with a picnic prepared in the kitchen, sat outside with just the view and the sound of remote cowbells to keep us company.

We really enjoyed it, and Maurice was an excellent host - but my advice is to check out the photos and make sure you are happy with those stairs... 

Top class in the countryside 

We had wonderful 3 days in Alsace, and the contribution from the owners of that property was substantial. Our family loves that area, so we know where and when we are supposed to be to get maximum from that trip. Though after discussions with the owner we made changes to our plans and found even better places where to go. So how it works: the combination of comfortable and spacious rooms with experienced travel agent, who is the owner by coincidence, leads to organizing your stay the way really tailored for. This is not 5 star hotel, so beds are not that expensive, but still comfortable. Bathroom is new and well functioning, but there were no shower gel, and that was the only "problem" during our stay. Breakfast was really nice. Summing up about the property, it worths coming some distance from main tourist attractions to stay there.

Great place to stay in Alsace

Very nice and helpful hosts with insider tips and excellent recommendations for retaurants, excellent breakfast, very good location for trips to Vosges and Colmar; new appartments with well arranged and selected designer equipment. We had the panorama suite with a wonderful view. WLAN for free, but area coverage limited; TV only for video, no SAT (but not missed).

Perfect hideaway in Vosges

This was my second visit to Le Chat Rouge and I brought three friends. Everything absolutely perfect!  This is a very special place to stay and Maurice and Edith are the absolute perfect hosts!  We all just lived it!
