We found this little B&B (a former tobacco drying building - beautifully renovated) just off the beaten track (a 10 min max walk into the centre of Orleans) through booking.com.  It was relatively easy to find and had private free parking.  We were welcomed by lovely Anna who showed us to our beautiful large en-suite room, then when we had refreshed she showed us a map of the city and recommended some restaurants.  On return later we had a glass of wine and beer and my husband and I played a board game in the lovely communal lounge/dining room. Slept very well and were welcomed downstairs by Anna's husband for breakfast with a beautifully laid table for two, with fruit, yoghurt, orange juice, croissants and bread, butter and jams.  We were offered some cheese as well.  When we left (btw cash or BACS only) he saw us out and showed us the easiest way to leave the city.  Wonderful stay in a quirky, friendly, clean B&B run by lovely people and free parking.  What else do you need? 

Lovely find in Orleans

A great local B+B just outside of Orléans. Alan the host was great from start to finish. Rooms large, bathrooms great, and all clean. Parking on site for free. Breakfast ample, with lovely coffee. Would reuse again no questions.

Attentive host, and traditionally French

Situated 200 metres from the Loire, on the south bank, this lovely family home can be highly recommended. The house is actually a conversion of an old tobacco factory, but it definitely does not smell of cigarettes! The rooms - just a few in number - are spacious and comfortable, with all the bits and pieces you'd expect in a good hotel. Madame is a perfect host and speaks English, too. Outstanding breakfast with some tasty local produce. Car parking is limited and should be reserved in advance.

Excellent B & B

The owners were nice enough.  Didn't seem welcoming, and didn't seem like they wanted to be in the B&B business.  The place was dark and very dusty, with cobwebs in corners.  We had the kids room and the main bed in that room had the biggest dip in the middle I've ever seen.  Think it might be time for new mattress.  There was another couple there at breakfast the first morning.  At breakfast we had fresh bread, croissants, fruit, and Yogurts.  Then overheard them ask the other couple if they would like cold cuts and cheese, but they never asked us.  There were 4 of us in our party.  It is in a good location, near the heart of the city and total walking distance.  Easy to get to the train station also.  One day it was very cold and raining.  One of us were not feeling well.  The guys had gone out and brought back lunch for the two wives.  So we ate downstairs, they gave us plates, asked if we would like coffee.  Sounded wonderful on such a cold day. (place was freezing also, never put on the heat)  In the end they even charged us for extra coffee.  Who does that?  This place could have been so much more, ended up just being adequate.  Just remembered, when we booked said you could use credit card, but the night before we were leaving owner said we had to pay in cash....Big Surprise!!

Not what we expected

Good reviews can be misleading, but in this case all was as said. We took the trip advisors at their word, and found a charming B&B. Great beds, clean rooms, spacious. The host was helpful in every way, directed us per foot to the old center of Orléans, nice. Beautiful classical music in the background during breakfast, a sublime touch.
