Most beautiful place in the most beautiful village. Gorgeous view and the best service. It was the best lunch I have had in years and somehow the playlist they played was filled with all my favorite songs (kinda strange actually) combined with the view made it an incredible experience. The dinner was also very nice and homey. I was a bit intimidated by the drive up here from other peoples reviews, but it's actually not that bad. 10/10

Beautiful

My boyfriend and me stayed here for a night. I've been here twice before some years back, and it was just as, if not more amazing than I remember. We got here for a fantastic lunch with the most beautiful view and decided to eat dinner here as well. It did not disappoint. The staff here is so nice! Our room was perfect and everything was made even better with the terrasse and the view! Amazing! Highly recommend this place. It's really worth visiting!

Amazing!

Absolutely excellent! Service, food, ambiance beautiful and really special! A hidden gem at the top of the mountain! Fresh, local food that we came all the way from New York City to experience. They were so accommodating and welcoming! The garden and the flowers were also so special

The restaurant is fantastic. The 5 course menu was amazing. I would definitely come back again. David was a great host. Awesome vibe. I’m coming back again. The service was attentive and we were guided through the experience. The dessert was a great closing experience.

Beautiful delicious restaurant

My wife and I spent a wonderful two nights at the Auberge de la Madonne in Peillon. David and the staff a great hosts and the food is amazing, all in that fantastic setting right beside the ancient village. Next time we'll rent a car from Nice to get there though. We took the train to the town below (3.5 K by road), and with our luggage and the intense July heat, it would have been a killer to get to the town. Fortunately, we met some very kind locals, including Florian at the local artisanal bakery, and at the Mayor's office, who arranged a lift for us to the top. Our stay was lovely and I very much recommend a visit for a quiet stay over or even for just a great meal at the Auberge. 

Wonderful stay at the Auberge

Forewarning we only ate at the restaurant so this review will not detail anything about the accommodation side of things.

Whilst visiting the wonderful hilltop village of Peillon we fancied a little light refreshment and a snack. 

Long story short we ended up having a gastronomical meal to remember and the 
most entertaining lunchtime, the likes of which I've rarely had before. 

Upon entering Auberge de la Madone we were greeted by the owner Matthew who proceeded to tell us about the different dining options available whilst they set up tables for our party of seven. Matthew was wonderfully entertaining and proceeded to tell us about the history of the place and how it came to be.

The food was sublime with French prepared lamb on a bed of the most wonderful vegetables all prepared by Thomas (Matthews brother) who is a genius in the kitchen.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough and would easily recommend you go out of your way to visit.

It was so amazing that I'm looking to come back in February to spend Valentines day in style in the hotel and enjoy more wonderful food and hospitality.

Amazing hotel set in a beautiful setting staff  were amazing  very friendly made you welcome couldn't do enough for you and so was the food everything explained to the last detail  if you get a chance would recommend

Worth a visit

We spent a lovely Sunday at lunch at the Auberge de la Madone.  Admittedly, the road up to the village of Peillon is not that easy but if you take your time and are cautious it's not bad.  The trip up to the village is certainly worth the effort.  The food and service in the Auberge's restaurant, run by family native to this ancient town, are excellent.  The dishes on their Sunday gastronomic menu were innovative and delicious.  You can't be in a hurry when dining here - but who would want to rush through such a gourmet meal?  Do try it - and experience a meal which is exceptional for quality of the food - and for the price, as well.

Fantastic dining experience - a short drive from Cannes, Nice or Monaco! Not sure about the hotel as we went for lunch.

So far our friendliest encounter in France. With great service and personal attention from owner and staff we enjoyed a great menu which is so far one of our hilights in the coast region. Situated in a pretty little town that has survived the centuries, the Michelin awarded restaurant, unassuming from the outside, is a delight.

We hope to come back soon and send our greetings - two delighted Germans.

Located in the prettiest of village, lots of opportunities to open your appetite by walking in the surroundings and the restaurant has got a marvellous terrace with a perfect summer breeze to cool you down. The menu offers lots of fresh produce and the service is with a smile, would happily go back.
