I booked a room for one of my close friends at the Pautonier, near my wedding venue. My friend arrived with her two adorable young children, the owner received her extremely badly, at the limit of the aggression here we don't have children, it will be better when you've paid (room reserved with a down payment 6 months earlier), breakfast, you take care of yourself, I put everything up and I don't serve, this kind of grace plus the supplement for a 4-year-old boy who has been sharing the room with his young mother and her seven-month-old sister.

Horrible reception

A magical place also in the heart of the Perche, a hamlet inhabited by Basil and Sonia who welcome you there all year round... we've been going back there for many years, and we'll be going back there for a long time

The Pautonier, a must-see in the heart of the Port

We stayed happily for four days as a family at the Pautonier. From the reception of Basel, its wise advice, to the quality of breakfast with delicious local produce, the bedding, the cleanliness, the tourist documentation, the tasteful decoration, the calm and the beauty of the place... everything helped make this stay at the Pautonier an unforgettable time for both adults and children.

Quietness and Charm in the Heart of Portugal

We spent three very pleasant days at the Pautonier. Our host was very friendly! The rooms in a former farmhouse are beautiful, breakfast is very good. Located in the countryside, the place is particularly quiet and conducive to rest. Spending guaranteed! It is an ideal base for visiting the Perche, with the good advice of our host. We strongly recommend.

Quietly in the Country

Stayed two nights in connection with a family wedding at La Mouchiere nearby (separate review). Proprietor named Basil. Very peaceful location, former horse farm, we stayed in part of a converted stable block. Compact accommodation, single bedroom, shower room & separate toilet. No frills, but ideal for our purpose, & good value @ €85 for two per night. Our first stopover en route to Provence

Not Fawlty Towers 😎

The place is charming, the host is thoughtful and caring, the rooms are beautifully decorated and the bathrooms are on the top floor.

We spent 3 days and 2 nights in the Licorne room. After walking a small rocky but largely practicable path (family car) going gently, a guarantee of peace, we met our very hospitable and friendly host accompanied by Dandy, a kind dog. We then discovered a small haven of peace very well maintained and with a lot of charm. The room is pleasant and the bed is of good quality. Breakfast is plentiful and very good quality with home or corner products. (the brioche and bread, a snack, as well as the apple juice of the house), served in a very pleasant outdoor space.

The real calm of the countryside!!

After this easy game of words, we can only recommend the Pautonier (pot one there is...) to all lovers of the countryside in general, and of the Perche in particular.... its location, near sites or monuments to visit (we recommend the house of the Parc Regional du Perche, in Nocé... it's just around the corner.. and ideal for small children.) and the charm of this typical little hamlet have attracted us..., in the heart of the countryside, and at the end of a nature path that shakes a little but that guarantees tranquility - but it seems that some would have preferred an asphalt boulevard to lead you to the door...thanks for the respect for the natural setting...!!! - we all know this discreet cottage where the master of the hostess places himself in the heart of the countryside, and at the end of a nature path that shakes a little but that guarantees tranquility - but it seems that some people would have preferred that an asphalted boulevard lead you to the door...thanks for the respect for the natural corners

What a pot... we're in there... very well!!!

My partner and I stayed at Le Pautonier for one night. We had been travelling  in a France for 2 weeks and this was our last night before returning home to UK. We have stayed in some beautiful hotels and B&B's. The surroundings were beautiful and we were not disappointed with this aspect. There is a long unmade driveway to the accommodation which is really only suitable for 4 x 4s. (The owner has 2!). Basil the owner is very friendly but unfortunately the accommodation lets the place down. The bed was extremely hard with sheets and heavy blankets - old fashioned these days! The room smelt very damp. No tea and coffee facilities and bearing in mind we had driven for 4 hours we were not offered a refreshment and there was nowhere near to get one. Unable to stand up in toilet due to low ceiling. No hair dryer in bathroom as advertised. Shower was however very powerful and hot. Basil asked us what time we wanted breakfast and when we went to the dining area - nothing was ready even though it was easy to prepare - yogurt - bread and jams. The home made apple juice I must admit was delicious. Although there is plenty of parking close to the accommodation - you are not allowed to park there - only to unload! You have to take car back to a grassed area. Please note that if you are staying in the family room - it is above the kitchen stairwell and not very private! Would not recommend to our friends.
