The room, host, and breakfast was exceptional.
Guillaume (host)  went out of his way to book us dinner at a nearby restaurant which was also superb.

His local knowledge was very interesting and very useful.

My wife and I will definitely be returning, hopefully soon.

Wonderful place to stay with a great host.

Christine and I could barely fault this wonderful B&B which we chose as a centre for our 2 night wine buying detour in beautiful Alsace at the end of our holiday. It is set in Pfaffenheim, one of the lesser known but still attractive villages, near Eguisheim and Colmar. Our room (Cardamone), set in the restored annex, was spacious and comfortable with a nice sitting area and super shower room. The bed was (at last!) a decent 5’ double and we slept peacefully. The great thing here is the hospitality of Guillaume and Emilie who work so hard to make their guests’ stays memorable. Breakfasts were top quality and the table d’hote dinner which Guillaume cooked was of the highest level, accompanied by copious aperitifs and wines. Sitting around the table with the other 7 guests was great fun and we had some riotous discussions in a combination of languages. I should also mention, for the sake of other British guests, that the kitchen is always available for guests for tea and coffee making with fresh milk provided! Guillaume and Emilie have ambitious plans for further additions which will make their house even better, if that were possible! I can think of nowhere better to stay in Alsace!!

Lovely stay away from the Alsace crowds - great hospitality!!

We booked this B&B was an intermediate stop on our way home from Italy. It was a great closure of our holiday. The rooms are spacious, with original details but also with all modern comfort. We enjoyed the table d’hotes -great cooking by Guillaume- at the kitchen center place with other guests. We will surely recommend this beautiful B&B!

Marvellous stay!

Me and my brother stayed 6 nights in Bergamote room and had an excellent time. We couldn't have been more pleased. The room (Bergamot) was spacious and clean with a lovely modern bathroom. (Beware steep climb up to the bed!) The hosts Emilie and Guillaume and their 2 adorable children are exceptionally warm and generous hosts. Guillaumes meals are a must! We had one 3 course dinner cooked by Guillaumes and it was excellent ! The breakfast is of high quality with pastries, fruits,cereal, cold cuts, cheeses , yogurt excellent coffee. The wi- fi works very well, it is very quiet and plenty of space to park the car in their gated courtyard. It Exceeded our expectations on many levels. I strongly urge anyone considering visiting this region to stay here. It was a great 'Find'

Excellent week

My husband and I stayed in this charming  and well run inn for 3 nights in Nov 2016. We couldn't have been more pleased. The room (Bergamot) was spacious and clean with a lovely modern shower. Every night was truly an experience. It Exceeded our expectations on many levels. I strongly urge anyone considering visiting this region to stay here. It was a great 'Find'

Exceptional stay

We arrived at the location. the host was completely drunk, he couldn't walk straight nor stand still, he even broke a lamp while showing us the room. The next morning you would think that he would be sober but he was still drunk. he couldn't remember anything. i could see that the other guests were also annoyed that the host was drunk again. He is an alcoholic.

There was no air conditionning in any of the rooms. the heat was unbearable to stay so we left after just spending 1 night. After telling the host that the heat was unbearable for us to stay another night. the first thing he said that he was going to charge the room. zero sympathy, and immediately giving excuses that the heat was n't his fault.

The host was drunk the entire time- too hot and no AC

First of all: the best aspect of our stay in that hotel was the beginning, i.e. the way the room we had booked looked when we arrived – it was as charming,comfortable and picturesque as the fotos on the internet had suggested. 
Sadly, that was about the only positive thing. The apartment was icy–cold, as was the reception by the landlady, and after a chilly night, things continued to go downhill: the landlady was obviously weary of having guests and 
consequently was as unfriendly as a host could be: what had online been described as „a continental breakfast“ (that is, as defined by European hotel standards, explicitly not the rather frugal French one) turned out to be a small plate with three tiny slices of baguette (apparently bought the day before and thus bone–dry), an equally tiny croissant, some cheese and some bacon. We also came across a bit of "fake news" - where, on the homepage, you see a bowl of fresh fruit, there was, only upon request, a tiny bowl of tinned (sugary, but in essentials, crappy) fruit. She literally banged it on the table, asked unceremoniously if we liked a cup of tea 
or coffee – and was gone. Neither did she offer any eggs or fruit, let alone ask if we wanted or needed anything else . My husband had to look for her to ask for some orange juice. When he did so – in French!–, she was muttering (in English, for whatever reason) about „the freezer“ and "apple juice“... She did, to make matters worse, not offer any help or guidance for us getting around in Colmar or 
things to see in the vicinity, the heating in the whole building was either not working or shut off – and when breakfast the next day was the same sad affair as when we arrived, we gave up hope for a nice stay and decided to leave immediately. It seemed telling that she did not even ask what had gone wrong. To cut a long story short: if ever you think of visiting Alsace, think twice (or more often,) about the Hôtel Emile.
