Loved staying here, Petra was a great host, who made some very good recommendations of where to go and see, she offered local wine, which was delicious. The room was lovely with the bathroom in one of the turrets, high ceilings and lovely big windows. Chateau Bellevue is located about an hour from Bordeaux, St Emilion and about an hour and a half from Cognac, but also very close to some local vineyards who all do wine tasting. We didn't have breakfast, but it was offered. Two lovely little dogs also live here, you feel like you are in a home away from home not a hotel, beds etc are not re-made daily. Would 100% come back!

Charming 

We would like to thank Petra, the owner and host of this beautiful chateau, for making our 3 night stay at the aptly named "Bellevue" one of the high points in a 3 month holiday in Europe. The beautifully decorated chateau is set in lush gardens with a magnificent view over vineyards and the Girond. Petra welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home immediately. She gave us tips for dining in nearby Blaye and also told us about excellent nearby attractions we could visit. We would not have known about these amazing places if not for her.  We loved being able to relax by the well maintained pool on our own which is not possible when staying at busy hotels. Breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious. Petra went to a lot of effort to ensure we enjoyed breakfast and our stay. Our room was on the first floor and a good size and clean. We would definitely recommend Chateau Bellevue and would stay again. 

Elegant and relaxed

We stayed at Chateau Bellevue for 4 nights in late April-early May.  The place is absolutely beautiful and sits on a hill with a splendid view of vineyards and the river.  The rooms are large and very comfortable.  Petra, our host, was extremely helpful and friendly.
Breakfast is a real treat at Chateau Bellevue, as Petra sets a wonderful table.  Great croissants, butter, other breads, meats, cheeses, jams, cereal, fruits, very good coffee or tea, etc.  We looked forward to breakfast!
If you're visiting the Bordeaux region of France, be sure to give Chateau Bellevue a good look.  I know you'll enjoy your stay.
The free wifi worked well also.

Beautiful castle in a beautiful setting!

The chateau and the view from the property are stunning and unique. The rooms are charming and cozy and the decoration and art in the halls creates a nice atmosphere.
If you come here adjust your expectations and be prepared for the following:
-Breakfast is not included in the price and cost 12 euros per person, and is served fairly late (9-12). Upon request they can serve it earlier.
-The rooms are nice however minor details have not been finalised eg lamp wires, ligth bulbs not replaced, grass only cut for one third of garden.
- Rooms are not cleaned during the day, garbage bins not emptied, new towels are not provided (maybe upon request?)
- Nobody maybe there when you check-in, nobody may be there to guide you and provide guidance on local trips, you are basically on your own until you checkout. Which however can also be fairly relaxing.
-Not a lot to do in the immediate soroundings villages, however pool on property is nice and the view to Medoc is beatiful.
In general, the property is very unique and beatiful, however it seems like the owners are not so engaged in how they manage the B&B and service/maintenance is not a priority. All in all, beatiful location but overpriced in terms of less focus on service and property maintenance.

Looks great in the ad. Booked two nights, stayed one and left. Wonderful location and a great structure but not kept up, disorganized, stuff scattered around and two dogs with the run of the place. The owner and sole employee talked about her problems, how the place was in escrow to a foreign buyer etc. Keep looking, this is not the place in the vineyard you are looking for.
