This place is simply amazing! The countryside, the real one!! In the heart of the city!! The host is very friendly and the place is magical! I highly recommend this hostel.

A weekend in heaven

A stay out of time, a little corner of paradise two steps from the canyon, a welcoming home as much as its owner, a beautiful setting, everything! We'll be back.

A place out of time

We were 9 adults and 11 children gathering in this beautiful home to spend an excellent weekend. The little ones could enjoy the superb swimming pool, the ping-pong table, the pétanque balls made available and great football games in the field while enjoying the great taste of the moments with friends in the beautiful garden. Chambers and bathrooms decorated with great taste, as well as the living room. I recommend to spend a pleasant weekend quietly in a beautiful greenery setting.

It's a beautiful home, everything is romantic here; the park extends its arms to relax, we enjoyed the tower's cottage, a very nice little nest, the reception and breakfast are top.

It's an address that we'd rather keep secret for our family, so we had a great weekend there, and we took the whole house to welcome our whole family, and everyone loved staying there, very satisfied with the comfort and the neat decoration of their room, and the reception was perfect, the hostess loved it and was welcoming.

Family party (22 persons) the last wend in this house 18 eme absolutely gorgeous with its splendid garden.Fabienne welcomes you kindly and simply in a warm way, her taste for decoration is worth checking out, imaginative and comfortable, what else? every room at number 10 is a story, tasty breakfast, canoes at the bottom of the property, gorgeous pool in the shade of a fig tree, in short I dream of returning there!! thank you Fabienne.

What a lovely place!

Great stay in this beautiful nineteenth-century home. A soul lives in this place, and the Housewife knows how to make it live. A home marked by a rare delicacy. We are in a neighborhood of Poitiers that, in terms of its geography and railway, has been preserved from various constructions. Sitting in the garden, and enjoying a beautiful summer evening marked by the heat, nothing more wonderful! Breakfast is wonderful, with a lot of varied - and it is very good.

Very warm and simple welcome in a very classy setting

You know what it's like, some times you book your hotel accommodation online and spend the week before you arrive nervous about what you will find.

The approach to this hotel keeps you in suspense right to the moment you first see it. Seamingly driving out of Poitiers along a single track road, there is a mish mash of properties to your left and what appears to be little gardens/vegetable patches with the odd garden shed or garage thrown in to your right.  Then all of a sudden the houses stop, give way to fields and you think you've missed it.  As you round a slight left hand bend, there is an ornate and well tended garden on the right before you and opersite is a little slice of tranquility.

You park in a small graveled area which is down  little track just after the house.  This is nicely out of the way which gives you comfort for its security.

After ringing the bell at the garden gate we were greeted by Fabienne, a lovely lady with as much of a grasp of the English language as I have for French.  Fortunately my wife was able to play translator most of the time or my pigeon French and gesticulations got us through.

To summarise before bore you into submission, this is a lovely getaway, just far enough from the town center but within a 10 minute drive to a city centre car park.  Poitiers by the way is well worth exploring for its cafes and restaurants.

A very warm welcome from an excellent host

Drove from the lower part of Dordogne to the hotel and waited in the lot until Madam arrived at 4:00 p.m. Started explaing in French that there was some problem. Luckily there was a Dutch guy who could translate. Apparently the owners daughter accepted our reservation after they were fully booked. Madam attempted to help us find a hotel, but since we were looking for a character B&B, the Best Western wasn't a good option.

Booking.com was completely unhelpful, since when they FINALLY answered the phone, we got a Chinese lady whose English was truly deplorable.

Seemed nice, but after 5 hours of driving, told us they were overbooked.

We had two nights here and wished we could have stayed longer. Everything about this home is beautiful. Fabienne the hostess is a lovely, friendly lady and very helpful. The house is absolutely beautiful. We could not fault anything and will definitely return with our friends but for longer next time.
