This hotel was our second choise in Tounus as all 4star hotels were fully booked.
No comparison to charming internet pictures and positive comments on Tripadvisor. This Chateau hotel should be urgently renovated or closed down.
Everything, park, interior and exterior completely worn out. Electrical installation not according to safety rules, shower not working properly, dirty carpet, etc.
Felt sorry for the kind old owner who did obviously not have the financial means nor professional support to run the place properly. 
No respect for the covid rules with not even the owner wearing a mask.
Due to many steps, especially 2'nd floor, not recommended for older and disabled people, this was not mentioned on the "Booking" site. Had a look in the kitchen which was enough not to take any meals.

Stop on way to south of France

Lots of charm in this beautiful place, we had a room on the top floor with en-suite bathroom and kitchen (not so well equipped).
The bathroom got an electric toilet, very noisy. Not enough toilet paper, half a roll left. Very small shampoo/shower gel pouches, not good enough.
The view over the pool and the garden is beautiful and the location rather nice, 10 min away from Tournus, such a wonderful place. 



Shabby chic in beautiful surroundings 

My husband, three year old, and I stopped here overnight on our drive down south. Arrived in the dark on a Sunday evening and were treated to a swim and a sauna and a reservation at a very good local resto was made for us by the housekeeper. Wonderful place, beautiful, serene, welcoming. will definitely be coming back.

Great stop off

We loved our stay in this wonderfully decorated very unique chateau.  If you are arriving by train you must phone Pierre in advance to ask him to organise a lift which he will do willingly.  We were greeted with a wonderful chilled bottle of wine and a warm welcome.  The home gives you a glimpse into a bygone era and we found it  charming. Eccentric unique and very clean.  Pierre was extremely helpful loaning us bicycles to enable us to cycle to the restaurant booking that he kindly made for us. We don't speak French and Pierre was very happy to help.  He assisted in taking us to Tournus to enable us to continue our holiday. We had a great time authentic shabby chic with a French twist. I would highly recommend it.

Faded grandeur at its best

Arrived late to have to clean previous guests food scraps from the table. Host did not mention that the modest breakfast provided had to be paid for until after we left. We did pay when asked. Security alarm went off after 1.00 am and attempts to contact the host by phone were not answered. It eventually shut down but the lights went down at the same time. The pool was welcome but had green slime and dirt on the bottom. The surrounds of the pool need weeding.
All these items can be easily fixed but suggest inspecting before booking.

Great location that under delivers

We spent four nights in self contained accommodation at the Chateau de Prèty. Arriving late on Saturday night after a long drive, we were met by Peter, a charming host, with gracious and friendly greeting and a chilled bottle of wine (even though we discovered by chance that we had delayed him from his own dinner plans). Peter provided us with breakfast every morning in the main house. He makes great coffee!

The accommodation was perfect for us with clean airy rooms and lovely sheets and towels. The style is certainly authentic shabby chic which for us added to the charm. 

Hot water was plentiful and there was great pressure for the shower and no problem running a bath at the same time. 

The chateau gardens are magical - not over-manicured, with cleared wooded areas and many different corners to sit or to explore, with views over the countryside from the lovely pool, surrounded by roses and lavender.

Local restaurants do need to be pre-booked, especially at the weekend, and La Truchere is a nearby hamlet on the river with good places for supper. Peter is very helpful with suggestions and booking of restaurants and activities all around the area. We went cycling and horse riding.

Altogether a very peaceful and rejuvenating spot in a lovely part of France. Thank you!
