Not the easiest place to find, firstly because google maps has it in two places on the same road and secondly due to a lack of signage. However, once found, this places is delightful! Jacques, the host, could be more charming and helpful. The room was lovely and spacious and well equipped. The breakfast was simple but delicious - lovely fresh coffee, freshly squeezed orange guile, home made yoghurt and preserves and fresh croissants, pastries and bread. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful place to stay and very welcoming

A stopover en route from Tuscany to Calais.What a pity we had such difficulty in finding Gentilhommiere.We arrived very late in the evening, but the host was very welcomimg. The room was lovely, almost a suite.In the morning we shared a large breakfast table, just outside our room, with a Dutch couple who were also just stopping overnight. There was a variety of fresh pastries, croissants, home made jams and yogurts, as well as good coffee.
We walked in the large garden after breakfast and wished we had more time.The building was very old and interesting and the host explained to me about the age of the house and various renovations that he had made.

Unfortunately just a stopover.

Located in the country side, the house is huge and impressive, just the opposite of amateur styled host. Needs to learn the basics of B&B welcome rules. We did not appreciate getting barked at just by ringing the entrance bell - needless to mention about not saying goodbye. Everybody has its own understanding of good manners.
Rooms are located in the upper part of the house with limited view on the garden and countryside. Breakfast and service not so impressive (coffee, fresh juice, croissant and yoghourt).

No value for money spent

We enjoyed our stay here.  The owner is very friendly and a warm host.  While the location is outside of town, the setting is bucolic and peaceful.  Our room was very large and the bed comfortable.  There are two things you should know (we were told of both in advance of our arrival):  the rooms are not currently air conditioned and the owner would not accept a credit card.  Neither of these were a problem for us since the weather was cool and we had Euros.  Also, know that there is not a local restaurant open on Mondays.  This also was not a problem.  We were able to buy sandwiches at a pâtisserie and dine outdoors on the grounds of the inn.   Highly recommended.

Huge room in beautiful setting

I am so glad we found this amazing small hotel.Everything was to a very high standard,exquisite furnishings.Every little detail had been covered,we could not find one small detail to critique.I only wish we could have stayed longer,could not recommend highly enough.I have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world and this was up there with the best.The only downside was no restaurant,but there are plenty in Macon.Breakfast was so delicious with home made yoghurt and preserves.the was the most immaculate hotel I have ever stayed in.
