Riberac itself is a fairly typical town who thanks to the questionable activity of the previous mayor has had its heart ripped out by the introduction of no less than five food supermarkets. This is a very good town however as a base for visiting the numerous and worthwhile museums and features of the area. The owner of this establishment takes great interest in her visitors and will do what she can to make people feel at home and make suggestions as to where to go. We found the bed very comfortable and huge, the environment quaint and unusual but above all the atmosphere was very homely This is a good value place; you will particularly realise this when you discover the stratospheric costs of food in this area and elsewhere. If you want to lunch and an evening meal you will be paying at least £100 UK for two people. As a rule of thumb, I would allow a daily rate in France of £150 per couple including food and excursions. It is not a cheap country to visit. We overcame this problem by buying bread and cheese and tomatoes and a bottle of wine and sitting in the very pleasant and peaceful garden at the back. We stayed five days and could have stayed longer.
