I booked a single room last minute when my airBnB didn’t have a/c as promised on the listing. It was a heatwave and I just couldn’t do it. Hotel Paulette came through for me with a clean room and freezing cold air conditioning. It was absolute bliss after 3 days in Paris with a barely functioning a/c. 

The room is small and the bathroom is teeny tiny, but it’s well designed and everything is clean. It’s all you need when traveling solo. All of the common areas are also lovely. 

I didn’t get the breakfast, but do yourself a favor and get it. It’s open earlier than most of the cafes so you might as well start your day here. There is an espresso/cappuccino machine too! 

Rouen is small and very walkable, so even though this is close to the river, you can walk all the way to the train station, no problem. If you need to do laundry, there is a laundromat close by or the hotel will also do a load for you. The laundromat is far less expensive though. 

The staff was delightful and so patiently allowed me to practice my French without just switching to English when I faltered. I always really appreciate that. 

I felt very safe here as a solo traveler. The hotel  main entrance needs your room key swiped to enter, as does the hallway in the stairwell. It’s 3 key swipes to get into your room. 

Super cold a/c in a heat wave. 

The hotel was renovated recently.  Kind and friendly staff, super cute decor, small and cosy room but with enough space for a couple. The bathroom was very modern as well. Soap smells great! Awesome A/C!!!! Located near underground parking and between the main road and old city sites. Ideal.

Had a good sleep lovely man at the front desk showed us to the room and gave some cakes which was kind🇫🇷👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Very close to major attractions including the cathedral and lots of nice bars and restaurants .

What’s good is there is a car park which helped us a lot

Good sleep nice service

This property was not as described. We booked a "Superior Room," rated at 161 square feet on a high floor. We were given a room of 145 square feet on the 1st floor. The room was so small there was no where to put our luggage. We were told parking would be available, but when we got there, we were pointed to some illegal parking. This is a clear breach of contract, but we could not get even a partial refund.

Not worth looking at.

The hotel is very central with a garage close by. The rooms are neat and cozy but very tiny, especially the bathrooms. But if you don’t mind living compactly, it's a nice enough place to stay. The breakfast was good, but a bit on the slim side if you are allergic to gluten. 

Tiny Rooms but Very Central

We stayed for a night coming back to the UK from the South West. It's convenient enough to get to, there's an underground car park literally round the corner which was 15 euro for 24 hours. The Vieux Marche is a short walk to some restaurants/bars and all we needed was some refreshment and a nights sleep before heading on.

The rooms are basic, but clean. The hotel staff speak good English and were very welcoming. However, there is no air conditioning and the rooms were unbearably hot in August. So much so we slept, when we could, with wet towels on us and took it in turns to have cold showers all night. I would strongly advise against staying here in peak summer, otherwise it would be fine for a cheap place to stay.

Very basic, but boiling hot rooms in Summer

My brother booked this place for our’s and his family because he’s very tight!  The rooms were very hot with no discernible air conditioning except opening the windows which meant that you were woken up by the noise outside.  The beds were poor with one small pillow per person and a single sheet.  In addition, my son’s bed had visible signs of bed bugs which the hotel reception refused to accept despite being shown pictures and refused to give us a refund or reduction.  My advice is definitely not to book if you want anything approaching a comfortable night’s sleep!

Very Poor!

had two nights here and that was enough, all i can say is the room is clean but very scruffy. didn't bother paying for breakfast as we thought we would eat out, however forget bacon and eggs, all you will get is coffee and bun.
Rouen is full of low life and beggars.

This hotel has the best location as it is situated near the Cathedral and other touristic spots. The room is clean and comfortable. Wi-Fi is stable. During summer or when heat wave is forecasted to occur, the top floor rooms may not be the best. The hotel provides portable air conditioning during this period. The staffs are very friendly and hospitable. The receptionists speak English in case you cannot speak French. Since this hotel doesn't have a private parking, it is quite a challenge to find one at public parking areas during weekday's peak hours. We've certainly enjoyed our 5 nights stay and will definitely be back.

Enjoyable Stay

My wife found this place right in Rouen's centre for around 80 Euros.
Parking is on your own: we arrived in Sunday afternoon and found a spot right next to the hotel.  I think two parking areas are right nearby.
The hotel is basic, but clean and comfortable.

Most locations are in easy walking distance.  The staff are very friendly.
