We stayed 4 nights and have no hesitation in recommending Villa dez Roses
Marion and Francoise are such friendly welcoming hosts. We were greeted on a hot day with the fabulous modern swimming pool with sunbeds and umbrellas together with a glass of cold Rose wine with ice. Magnifique. The gardens and surrounding views of ochre cliffs were sensational. We did not have a car but the walk into the village is not that onerous and good for walking off all the good food we enjoyed in the village restaurants. Our favourite restaurant was Restaurant David but we liked the others as well. Marion and Francoise provide a wonderful breakfast every morning with the freshest berry fruits, bread, croissants etc We also appreciated Marion organising a taxi for us on our last day. A great place to stay as a base in the Provence.

So nice and relaxing

We are 2 couples travelling from Melbourne on holiday, and we stayed at Villa Des Roses for 2 nights while exploring the area. Lysiane and Gerard are the perfect hosts. The villa is lovely and set in a beautiful garden that Gerard looks after. Our 2 bedrooms were in a separate section upstairs, together with a shower, toilet and lounge room that were for our private use. Both rooms were charmingly decorated and looked out to the red ochre hills of Roussillon! We thoroughly enjoyed Lysiane's lovely breakfasts of french bread, pastries, home made cakes and jams, home grown cherries, as well as cheese plate, all served on the patio overlooking the swimming pool, garden and the ochre cliffs! They speak very little English but were very helpful in recommending places to visit and making restaurant dinner reservations for us. We like Le Piquebaure restaurant that is just 10 mins walking distance from the B&B. We are very glad to have had the chance to stay with Lysiane and Gerard and wish them the very best!

Highly recommended

A beautiful, tasteful, peaceful home with exceptional hosts. We were greeted with a glass of wine, and the owners even made us reservations for dinner and took us there and picked us up! They were lovely people and we communicated even with a language barrier. Shows that you can make friends anywhere. Even though the  B&B is hard to find, just outside of the village, it is worth the effort. Fabulous breakfast all homemade.

A Prize rose

We stayed at the Villa for two nights and it was the most gracious hospitality we have ever received.  The setting is just as it shows on the web we were greeted with some French wine and cheese and bread next to the large pool.  We had a lovely spacious room with a beautiful ensuite overlooking the ocher cliffs in their backyard.  Each morning we had a beautiful breakfast on the patio with homemade breads jellies fresh fruit and wonderful coffee.  Although we have very limited French speaking skills we still had a lovely time and the hosts were so helpful showing us on a map the places that we should visit in their area she also made us a reservation at the restaurant David that overlooks the ocher cliffs in the village.  The walk into the villages about 10 to 12 minutes but with the limited parking it's wonderful to be able to walk and then come back to your lovely room .  There's just too many wonderful things to say about this villa it's a must to stay at and the prices are very reasonable.  Remember they only take cash. Truly enjoy staying there

Absolutely tranquil and lovely

We spent one night in the Villa des Roses. We were warmly welcomed and received great attention - especially at breakfast which was delicious. The suites are large and beautiful. The location is perfect and the view on the red rocks is breathtaking. 

Very nice place

Lysiane and Gerard are the loveliest, most welcoming hosts you could wish for. We spent 3 nights here whilst we explored the surrounding area. The villa is lovely, we had a gorgeous room looking out to the red ochre hills of Roussillon and a fantastic ensuite bathroom with bath! The real highlight was Lysiane's incredible breakfasts, like the other reviews state,her cooking is sensational, so delicious & generous we never needed lunch! They both speak very little English and my French is schoolgirl at best but we still managed to understand each other. The only challenge is the sound of the frogs at night, I suggest earplugs! However if that's all you need to worry about you don't really have any problems! We cannot recommend these beautiful people and their lovely home highly enough.
