This hotel calls itself a straightforward, basic, comfortable hotel and that is exactly what it is. With an unassuming and straightforward French restaurant. We had the double priced at EU66 (you can book via website or email owner). Our room was huge with view over the park and stream opposite. Mattress comfortable (pillows just Ok, a bit lumpy). Room clean but tired and basic. But fine for the price. Breakfast extensive with good coffee for EU8 each. In restaurant had superb duck leg, wonderful entrecôte, good salmon salad. Nice myrtle sparking wine. Good Leffe beer. Main course between EU12 and 16. So it’s good value for money and typically French. Best thing about hotel is location, right next to Royatonic spa - hotel get discount and we spent a great day there (see Review). Also very easy drive to the volcano Puy de Dome and train to the top (again hotel have discount tickets so you don’t need to queue etc). Parking opposite or at back of hotel. Nice young couple run the place and slowly refurbishing. Wi-fi needs to improve a bit. Recommend a stop over if driving across central France and on a budget. We will be back.
