So we were able to do a nice lay ceremony on the lawn under the big cedar tree. It was very convenient for some married men & their families to book the cottage, the guest room was very convenient & we were quickly conquered by the charm of the place, the livery on the façades and the beautiful reception room all made of stone. We were quick to try to make a small offer of accommodation as well. We also thought that the small terrace of the house is adorable, but the rooms were equipped & the room was full! However, we did not ask for a decent view of the hotel, but we did not look at the view of the interior, but we did not notice the beauty of the house, and we did not notice that there was a lot of

It's a beautiful place, but it's a shame too.

I join the previous mild comments. The place would clearly deserve five stars when it was our case. It met all our criteria and we were very happy to celebrate our wedding in this beautiful place. Nevertheless, the owners are so hateful and disrespectful that we strongly discourage this place. It is said that there is always something that does not work out as planned on J's Day, which is disappointing, and in our case it was these two hateful bathrooms. Everything else was very well done. Here are the reasons for our marriage in this beautiful place.

It's a beautiful place, but the owners hate it.

A beautiful site in the middle of the vineyards, a pity that the owners are so present; one feels constantly watched as they stay in the building touching the reception room... Their dog walking on the site also during the we na not reassured the parents of young children. It is also a pity that the interior is not better maintained and equipped: the kitchen of the reception room (which looks more like a barras) has only a sink and a refrigerator (too small for a wedding), it was necessary to rent a refrigerator truck as well as all the minimum necessary to the caterer (oven, work plan..); the household of the ceilings was not really exceptionally well-maintained and all the rooms were very well-equipped because the recycled rooms in the reception room (which looks more like a barras) had a very nice sink and a fridge (too small for a wedding), it was necessary to rent a refrigerated truck as well as all the minimum necessary to the caterer (furna, work plan); the house was not really well-equipped to be seen because the roofs were very

We got married on 30 June 2018 at Château Lardier. A great estate in the heart of the vineyards! The old renovated chai in the reception hall with the apparent stones is a wonderful place for dining that can accommodate up to 200 people. The cocktail with views of the vineyards was amazing. Mr. and Mrs. De Gallifet advised us of very good contractors for our wedding, everything went perfectly. In addition we had the opportunity to accommodate many room people thanks to the castle and the castle. I highly recommend this holiday for a wedding or just between friends in the castle! We had a lot of compliments on this beautiful castle. Thanks again for this unique week!

A Unique Place for a Glorious Wedding

Still under the charm of my sister Valentine's wedding to Enguerrand last July. The area is beautiful, the house is sublime, and above all a bright welcome! Very easy contact with the owners and organization that seemed simple, unpretentious, all rolling! This place will remain engraved in my memory! I recommend for all your family events!

Perfect from A to Z

Nicolas and I got married in July 2017 and we had a perfectly heavenly moment. The first day of the rest of our lives: a perfectly unforgettable moment. The owners of Laetitia and Pacôme are absolutely charming, and very funny people! who greatly contributed to making everyone feel happy because it was quite stressful for us - especially since we really wanted to enjoy it. They were present from the beginning to the end: they invited us to the charming Abbey of Blasimon to get married. The sun was setting and this spiritual place is the image of what we wanted for the wedding. Concerting for the property: nothing to be thankful for: I'll be thankful to you again because it's the moment that Paestelle's own mistress had actually come back to my room and we'll be back in the perfectly beautiful grass.

The first day of the rest of my life

Our children are happily preparing for their wedding and when they visited the castle last October they had a real heart attack, everything was in line with their expectations but only the reception of the owner of the place had a little restrained them in their decision. They wanted us to make a counter-visit to take notice and unfortunately we had the misfortune that our appointment (cancelled by email which we never received) could not be made. We went to the place not knowing that we were not welcome. The owner of the castle was alone at that time. He showed coldness of rigour and had no doubt about his willingness not to work with our children. It was impossible to dialogue or exchange the event of empty friends of the owner of the place, given that the day of the wedding, and those who could not forget their children, who would not be able to share the joy of this day, and who would not be able to forget their children, who would not be able to share their joy in the celebration.

Preparing for Marriage

We got married this summer at Lardier Castle and the result was just as we expected. The place was simply splendid and perfectly suited for an event of this magnitude. The rooms are very nice and the place is fabulous to accommodate your closest guests. I can only highly recommend that you call the owners for your events or for a weekend break in the vineyards.

Fairy marriage at Château Lardier

If you are looking for a warm welcome to the Bordeaux region we cannot recommend Chateau Lardier as a place to stay. 

We stayed here because we were attending a wedding in the area and this was the venue for one of the events so it was convenient for us as we were traveling with a two-month old baby. The 4 star rating on a TripAdvisor lead us to believe  that this would be pleasant accommodation, but we were disappointed on a daily basis. It seems clear that the owners are not incentivized to make any effort at all, and that good service is not something they aspire to.

The building and room we stayed in were fine. But here are some of the things that put a damper on our experience:

1) the only flight available from Norway landed quite late, so we arrived at Lardier at around 22.00. When we emailed in advance to hear if it would be possible to have some food (something easy like cheese and bread) available when we arrived (since restaurants and shops would be closed then) we were bluntly told to "eat on the plane".

2) The breakfast is typically French: one croissant, a baguette, jam and honey, and a yoghurt each. If you enjoy the luxury of a more diverse breakfast when holidaying (eggs, bacon, fresh fruit etc) then this is not the place for you.

3) We bought some cheese and bread to snack on between various wedding events (having a tiny baby is not always conducive to restaurants and standard mealtimes) and when we asked the owners of Lardier if we could borrow a knife to cut the cheese we were told "no eating in the rooms, this is the rule, and no drinking either!"

This is the first time we have stayed in a hotel that doesn't allow one to eat in one's room (in fact most hotels have room service - which we would have welcomed if this was available here), so we found this to be quite strange. What was stranger however was how unwilling the owners were to help us with a solution - if they were worried about food in the room attracting animals (we had the pleasure of finding a snake on the stairwell during our stay so perhaps the owners are wary of letting people eat in the rooms because more snakes will be attracted to the house?) then why not let us have our little snack in the dining area where we had breakfast? Absolutely no attempt was made to help us whatsoever - by this point they were treating us like an inconvenience.

4) The estate also rents out a cottage, which is where another group of guests attending the same wedding as us were staying. We were therefore told that our final two breakfasts would be "served" in the cottage (in order to save the owners the apparently huge inconvenience of setting a table for two people in the main house). 
We arrived at the cottage at around 08.30 (as one is generally awake early with a 2 month old baby) to find a tray had been left in the passage with croissants and baguettes and nothing else. The occupants of the cottage (who we were not acquainted with and are in a very different life phase to us) were still fast asleep after a late night and we didn't feel comfortable waking them up by sitting in their kitchen whilst eating breakfast with our child (who doesn't know how to whisper yet).  Since eating in our room was "against the rules" we then just had to eat a croissant each while walking back to the main house. 

On the second morning of the "cottage breakfast" arrangement we asked if we could please sit in the main house and were met with a flat refusal and made to feel like scolded children for daring to ask. Again there was zero interest in trying to accommodate us, which was surprising as this is not a cheap backpacker hostel and the request we were making hardly seemed unreasonable or excessive.

5) Other small things like the fact that during our 5 night stay we never received a new set of towels, our bed was not made (let alone room cleaned) every day, and the toiletries available were 2 shower caps and a hand wash that "can be used as shampoo and shower gel" made the experience of Lardier as a low-level BnB complete. 

I recognize that this is the home of the owners (their house, their rules) but for the price one pays to stay here one would expect better service, and if you are looking for a great holiday experience at a hospitable, welcoming place in the winelands I would recommend staying anywhere else but Lardier. We will certainly not be back, but I'm sure the owners couldn't care less ;)

Pretty, but...

We stayed with our little daughter for four days in August. The house and the place are wonderful. The owners have splendidly restored the old chateau, everything has been done with charm and taste. The attention to guests is excellent. The house is located in a beautiful area (surrounded by vineyards), the park is lovely and there is also an enjoyable pool. Breakfast every day was very good. Absolutely recommended.
