We had an enjoyable stay here. The apartment unit is standalone, comfortable clean and well serviced. The grounds provide ample parking as well as the facility to walk and lounge around. Being a bit away from the main towns, it affords the luxury of quiet relaxation.

Now this is a truly marvelous place, lovingly brought back to historic grandeur by Jemma, her husband and her mother Ann. The builder of the chateau, one Barthélemy de Bavolier, was somebody important during the time of Louis XVI. In the spirit of the late king Jemma has furnished the apartment we were staying in, in a faux Louis XVI-style (you don’t have to worry about putting a wineglass on the furniture 😀). Rooms were spotlessly clean, large bathroom, nice kitchenette, your own terrace, bbq available, lounge set on the chateau-lawn. Highlight of your stay: a chance encounter with Ann, covered in dust, tiling a room or helping plumbers. Jemma is the perfect host, trying to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The surroundings are very quiet.

Wonderful Louis XVI-style apartment in 18th century chateau

On my wat back from Portugal, I stayed in this perfect place near Bordeaux. Very kind  lady runs the place. Rooms are very special and luxiourious. Value for money.I can recommend this place. Breakfast was very special top.

Perfect

We went to château Bavolier for one night with our 2 kids (4yo and 1yo). We were welcomed by the host with a glass of wine and discovered this marvelous place. Everything was really perfect ! From our arrival to the breakfast. 

Do not forget to ask for a glass of wine on the terrasse at night, this is a very peaceful place.

This place is incredible.  It certainly has "wow factor" and the wole place has been renovated to such a high standard to recapture some of that French opulence.  Anne, the owner is lovely and made our stay s much better with her friendly manner, helpfulness and knowledge of the area.  Can't recommend this enough if you want reasonably priced luxury and a beautiful, quiet location.  We're planning our our return next year!

Opulent perfection in a beautiful location

Stayed here for two nights whilst traveling through France. Ann, the host was lovely and accommodating, but for a B&B that size, there's a few things that would benefit the people who stay. Perhaps more seating areas in the gardens, shaded seating areas, perhaps a pool, tea & coffee making facilities in the bedrooms, a small fridge so people can store their drinks in.  The house is decorated beautifully in french decor, which is impressive alone and most of all a proper shower would have been lovely. An enjoyable stay, but for us, we wouldn't return. 

A little bit of histeu

I stayed at Chateau Bavolier for four nights with my wife and three children. The Chateau is stunning and the work that Ann has done to bring the property back to life is a superb achievement. The high ceilings together with the amazing windows and doors really are special. Ann made us feel so welcome that by the time we left we felt like members of the family. We shared the property with other guests on the last couple of nights and our privacy was never compromised, breakfasts were wonderful and Ann makes a mean cup of coffee. My stay at Chateau Bavolier felt really special and we would stay with Ann again without any hesitation when we visit Bordeaux next.
