Manor La Betoulle is a rare pearl! Everything is in line with description and photos, in a little bit better.. The rooms are indeed large with double sink bathroom. The covered terrace accessible from the rooms overlooking the park is very pleasant. The kitchen corner is very convenient (attention: no kitchen table; microwave only). And the swimming pool is as large as it has air (very above the usual pools for a maximum capacity of 12 to 14 bathrooms, which is a fabulous pool).

It's a rare pearl.

Our stay with my companion was very pleasant, the guests are very welcoming, the room and bed are on the top floor with a beautiful terrace overlooking the property, we'll come back and recharge in peace.

It's perfect!

We had an amazing time here. Our kind hosts provided a wonderful welcome pack on our arrival , much appreciated after a long journey. The surroundings are beautiful, quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed breakfast on our balcony each day and made good use of the pool. Our hosts helped out with dinner reservations and gave us loads of information on where to go in the locality. We definitely want to make a return visit.

A wonderful holiday

My wife and I stayed here for five nights having travelled from Australia, this relaxing retreat was perfect for us to use as a base to savour the surrounding area.   Penny and John should be rewarded for offering their "house" to travellers.  They were very friendly, knowledgable and inviting.  The location, rooms, gardens and pool were very well done.  The breakfast was well done with the home made preserves and honey a treat, the Pineau Cherries were especially delicious.
For those that want to be rewarded with a quiet location to relax and soak up the sights we can thoroughly recommend this location.  
We would love to return someday.

Outstanding retreat with great homemade jams and preserves.

We stayed here for three nights while visiting the area, and were very pleased. It’s a magnificent house with very tranquil surroundings. The room and ensuite bathroom were spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. Penny was a marvelous host and made us feel right at home. The tasty continental breakfast was perfect to get us going for the day. I highly recommend staying here, and we will stay here again ourselves if we get the chance. 

Fabulous spot

We have just enjoyed the most wonderful 9 nights in the large gite La Tiede at Manoir la Betoulle. An ideal location just outside the village of Saint-Claud in the Charente. The gite is beautifully presented and very well equipped, a real haven. The very large swimming pool is wonderful, and we had it virtually to ourselves during our stay; likewise the very good tennis court just 20 metres from our door. I had 2 lessons from the local tennis professional Phillipe, and he was terrific. My backhand is much improved!
To cap it off, there is a really excellent riding stables only 5km away, so our horse mad daughter had a happy couple of half days doing pony games and jumping tuition under the expert eye of the superb Vivienne.
The area is full of pretty little towns and villages with great restaurants, mills, chateaus and quiet streets to amble round.
You can do as much or as little as you want here, and Penny and John were the perfect hosts and so helpful with every detail of our stay.
An absolute gem of a place. Our only regret is that we did not find it sooner!

Simply perfect!

Another fantastic break at La Betouille. Plenty of tennis and sunshine by the pool.Great meal at the nearby chateau as usual. Penny and John make this a very relaxing venue.There are a good variety of local restaurants in this area.

Returning again.

Everything was wonderful!

Very pleasant stay during a family visit to the area, great breakfast with Madame who presents every morning different homemade preparations with a very pleasant British accent.

We spent two nights at the mansion for a perfectly good stay! The welcome is perfect and so British from Penny and her husband! The spacious and clean rooms, as well as the pool. Tennis is the cherry on the cake! We recommend
