Le Gîte du Moulin du Boisset

The residence is family run, immaculately kept and super organized. It is perfectly located, a short distance from the medieval town of Martel, 5 minutes by car and the town of Vayrac, also 5 minutes away. One can find all amenities in these two towns, like petrol stations, supermarkets, bakeries, etc. Martel also has a number of very good restaurants for a nice evening meal. There is a nearby train station and the railroad passses right behind the residence. It did not bother us one little bit. The area is of 10,000 square meters, comprizing the old mill residence, self catering building, large parking area, swimming pool and barbeque area and impressive gardens. We arrived late, at 9.30pm and our hosts graciously prepared a light dinner which we appreciated a lot. Breakfast is typical French continental style with super fresh baguettes, home made cakes and pies and delicious home made jams. We stayed in the ground floor chambre Royal. Nice, spacious and clean with coffee making facilities provided. Seperate toilet and bathroom which is a nice touch and a rainforest shower, even better. Other rooms availabe on the upper floors but no lift available. The owners treated us like family and are very knowledgeable of the area and gave us very good advice on where and when to go to the numerous places to see. All in all this was a very nice, relaxing break in a fantastic place. Perfect place as a base to explore the Dordogne. Thank you so very much.
