We had a great stay at this Manoir. We were welcomed by the host Patrice  who showed us our room in a separate buiding on this very  large plot with several buildings and a bit of beautiful  forest. Our room was rather new and of good quality. Nice bedroom and good beds. In the morning we had a wonderful breakfast by hostess Beatrice. It was really worth staying here. Having dinner in the evening nearby could be a problem. Most Restaurants were closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

A great location

I would highly recommend this place. We arrived late for a stop-over and had 2 rooms in the annex. The rooms were modern, clean and well presented, absolutely perfect for us. The breakfast in the morning was in the Manor and was absolutely delicious, with incredible Jams made on the estate. The grounds are beautiful with some really cute donkeys that the kids fed and sheep in the orchards behind the house. What really made is special is the lady who owns the house who was charming, welcoming and very attentive. A very special place to stay.

Haut-Normandie, Haut-Charme

I have been having an overnight stop here around six times a year for the last six or seven years, often alone, sometimes with my husband and occasionally also with friends. The location is very convenient for the journey to and from London and even more importantly it is a particularly beautiful place and I/we always receive a completely warm, kind and friendly reception there. 
Although I'm sure the Noël-Windsors have a good command of English, they tolerate my atrocious French (I persevere in the hope of improving) without betraying the slightest impatience. They and their daughter are lovely, generous people and are always friendly and helpful. Over the years I've often observed them interacting in the same hospitable way with other guests, some of whom are also regular visitors. Frequently I buy their free range eggs and home made jams and sometimes their calvados and fruit.
I've stayed in the handsome Manoir itself, several times alone in a smaller double room & also with my husband in a larger double. Both were delightful, wonderfully atmospheric rooms. More recently, although I prefer the Manoir with its antique furniture and lovely décor, I/we tend to stay in one of the modern rooms in the converted barn because that is more convenient when we may have a late arrival. However I/we still get to enjoy the glory of the Manoir because a continental breakfast of teas, coffee, cereals, fruit, fresh breads, croissants and the tasty homemade jams  is served communally in a large and very beautiful room there.
The house and barn rooms are kept spotlessly clean. 
The large grounds, in which I always enjoy a walk, are equally beautiful with the large enchanting wood with its numerous ancient trees and many paths and occasional wild boar and deer, the orchard, the lovely gardens, the cat, the dog, the sheep, the house martins in summer and the donkeys including, this trip, a newborn! 
I think twice my stays coincided with a wedding and I found that a bit too noisy and I now generally prefer to avoid those dates. 
With that sole proviso, I stay here with complete pleasure and am privileged to be able to do so regularly.

A wonderful place and lovely people

Almost do not want to let everyone know this little chateau tucked away down a track.  Well located just off the motorway not far from Rouen. You mat stay in a lodge or above the ample garage just round the corner from the 16 century Manor House. We had breakfast in the Manor House which is a family home but completely period including spinning wheel in the room but I did not find sleeping beauty. Very pleasant owners who directed us to Le Bec-Hellouin for evening meal about 8km away. That is also a joy.

Top Notch

To get here, a car is a must. It is however perfectly sited near the Motorway to Bordeaux and it is not far from that nightmare for drivers which is Rouen. It is near and yet is peace incarnate. The place is a little hard to find but only a very little - the drive up to the Manor House is one of the longest imaginable but it is quite enchanting. The Manoir itself is delightfully quirky. You feel as though you are a guest in someone else's bedroom rather than a hotel. I had a delightful room with a view of the orchard where the apples were loaded in the trees. I went downstairs and was offered a glass (or more!) of the house cider made from the same apples. There are grounds in which you can wander and one feels as though a country house party is about to start or finish! One slight drawback is that there is no restaurant so you will be obliged to drive a few kilometres away to where there are places to eat. I speak good French, but you should be aware that this may not be spoken there. As the charming couple there at the time of my visit were locums rather than the proprietors I may be wide of the mark. 

I found the hotel on Booking.com - rather strangely although I had given a card guaranteeing the room I had a mail from the hotel asking me for a €20 deposit - this was sorted by the fact that there was insufficient time but I did find this a little strange.

As I had many kilometers to drive the following day I needed to leave early, so the husband arose to ensure that I had breakfast - which I might add was excellent and fresh. For this and the night's stay I paid €64 total.  I had slept extremely well and I was simply enchanted by the place. Candidly I could recommend this delightful relais to anyone. This is not a shiny swanky chain of any description but it did what is done so well in France. I love it. 

One word - it was empty apart from me as it was a Tuesday - at weekends it could be busy as it is very popular for weddings.

LA VIE DE CHATEAU

We are a family with two young children. Although expensive - €136 - we had specifically booked a family room as shown on the website and were attracted by the overall setting of the chambre d'hôte. We were shocked to be initially shown to a room away from the main house that would have been more appropriate for a hostel - that would have been fine had that been what we had booked and been on a budget. When pressed, we were ultimately put in the room we had originally booked. In fairness, the room was pleasant and quiet, albeit the bathroom was somewhat basic, and the owners were welcoming. Nonetheless, I would underline that the accommodation was very over-priced.
