Domaine d'Harlot

The place is really authentic, welcoming and quiet. The room was great and so was breakfast. There is a large living room and kitchen to use. Close to Vezelay and nice walks starting from the domain itself. The Morvan is just around the corner.

We stayed here 4 nights and had a real good time. We had a lot of space (family suite), good breakfast, nice people and beautiful environment. There is a living room for guest and a kitchen we used some time and of course the garden with beautiful view.

We stay there 2 nights and it was awesome stay, the whole place it's a farm and you feel like you are a farmer at least for a second. The whole family are wonderful and the breakfast was great. Highly recommended!!

We came from Australia, took trains across Paris, then a car from Avallon and ended up here. Everything was perfect; the hosts were really nice and helpful, the landscape relaxing and the rooms were charming. We even caught a few little fish in their pond. A short drive to the most amazing little villages and restaurants. I woke up early one morning to be greeted by the farm animals; the dog sleeping in the car and while walking saw a little red deer scoot off.

We spent four nights here in early summer.  The house is a working farm with great history and charm. The views down the valley are stunning- some of the best I have ever seen in europe.  The family were very welcoming; friendly but not intrusive.  The use of a special guest sitting room and kitchen was appreciated.  The room was decorated in a traditional style with lovely details.  The breakfast was delicious and plentiful- homemade bread, preserves and pastries. It was a perfect location for a quiet get away and a good base for exploring the national park and some of the lesser known historical towns of Burgundy.  No dining options within walking distance, but there is a kitchen.  Will definitely be back.

We only stayed one night on our way back to the UK, but wished we could stay for longer.  It is a remote, quite location with beautiful views across the Morvan. We were a family of 4 and stayed in the family suite on the first floor - the views are to die for and the rooms are beautifully converted with appropriate furniture etc. Ghislane was a welcoming, friendly host with fluent English.  She and her English husband manage the farm by themselves.  Friendly dogs also greet you. There is quite a grand salon to spend the evenings in and where breakfast is served.  It is shared with 2 other guest rooms.  There is also a small well equipped kitchen to use if you want to cook for yourself in the evening, which was very helpful.  Breakfast was delicious and included home made bread and preserves. Highly recommended and would love to go back and explore the area more.  Vezelay is about 20 minutes to the north.

When we arrived at Domaine de Dremont we couldnt believe how lucky we were to find such a charming place to stay. The location is amazing and the owners are so friendly. We stayed in one of the ground floor rooms which was charming and had the feel of a traditional French Farmhouse and was done up to a very high standard. We awoke each morning to the smell of freshly baked bread which the hosts made themselves. They try to make/ source as much of the food as possible from the local area. They also have recycling facilities which is great too! They organised some bikes for us to hire from a nearby town which was much appreciated and very kind of them.

Although this was perfect for us, it is in the middle of nowhere so perhaps not for everyone. Also i would advise against bringing children that aren't used to the countryside as they may get a bit bored!! Their children are lovely and friendly and not at all noisy. 

Would love to go back.
