I chose this place for us to spend two nights due to TA reviews I'd read, and we were not at all disappointed. Our room, at the top of a long staircase (no lift, for those who need help with their luggage) was large and comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom and spacious shower (compared to many others in Europe). When we opened the shutters outside our window we had gorgeous views, both towards St. Emilion and also out over the vineyards (a double rainbow greeted us!). Catherine is a wonderful host, very helpful. The breakfast, different both mornings, was full of variety and very delicious, always including meats and cheese and baguette plus something just out of the oven, with creamy homemade yogurt and an extensive variety of homemade preserves (including green tomato!) and even Canadian maple syrup for the pain perdu the second day. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone who has a car and wishes to visit St. Emilion, a precious little town.

A perfect stay in a lovely chateau in the midst of a vineyard

Wonderful 18th century chateau - simply but elegantly renovated - with clean and very comfortable accommodation. Great breakfast provided including freshly baked croissant and pain.... and home made yoghurt and jams. In the heart of St Emilion - walk through the vineyards into town.

Brilliant place to stay!

Don't be fooled by the initial impression of this chateau as you first approach.  Franc-Pourret is perhaps the most charming place to spend a few days we have ever encountered.  Everything is special:  the wonderful host, the location practically in the middle of the vineyard, the interior decoration, the generous size of the rooms, the views from those windows, the breakfast, and I could go on.  Deserves the reputation it has here on TA and elsewhere.  Strongly recommended.

just as wonderful as everyone says!

This was a long overdue review but we have to tell everyone how great Château Franc-Pourret is !
It’s nice when your expectations are met and even better when they are surpassed. 
This was our second stay at the Château, and we can’t wait for the third !
The Château is very well kept. 
Our room , Pain d’épices, was spotlessly clean with a huge, impeccable bathroom. 
The entire house it is immaculate and beautifully decorated, with a lot of attention to detail and lovely touches. 
Breakfasts are very generous, delicious and are adaptable to dietary needs. 
Catherine is an amazing cook ! Her pastries and cookies are to die for ! And they are freshly baked every morning. 
The Château Franc-Pourret vineyard tour and tasting was a highlight. 
Catherine ‘s wine it is outstanding !
We want to thank Catherine for her tremendous hospitality. She helped us to plan our daily itinerary and activities based on our interests with great attention to details. 
A phenomenal level of friendly and personal service - a real gem.

Saint-Émilion treasure

Very small and cozy, good size room, and a very friendly and helpful landlord. It was great with walking distance to St Emilion, - the back route along the vines etc, - how good does it get.  It was with B&B and breakfast was very very nice, not over the top, but pleanty

Very nice stay, - weather was so so, but all worked very well

Beautiful rooms full of character. The bathroom is totally newly renovated in a way that feels very luxurious. 
Charming and there’s only two rooms, so petite.
The very nice Madam of the Chateau speaks very well English and the morning table is in a room downstairs and full off atmosphere if the weather don’t provide warm sunshine to sit outside.
This is not a newly decorated place but you’ll see the  real decor. It’s a real Chateau.

Really charming Chateau

My wife found Chateau. Franc Pourret on-line. We were looking for something reasonably priced close to St Emilion. We didn’t know what to expect as booking online sight unseen can be a bit of a risk. We were delighted. The Chateau was charming, a Catherine, The proprietress, was charming, friendly, extremely helpful but not intrusive.
The Château has two guest rooms. Both are large and airy and spotlessly clean. Generous Tea and Nespresso coffee making facilities are provided. Continental breakfasts of local home baked specialities, croissant, cheese, ham, yoghurt, nuts, bread and conserves were very good. I was particularly keen on the Canelé. Catherine baked these for our final breakfast after I had said how much we had both enjoyed them in St Emilion.
It is possible - indeed, advisable to walk to St Emilion through the vineyards. We saw so much wildlife en route.
The Chateau is set on a working vineyard and Catherine was able to explain much of the intricacies of the process - such as why roses are planted at the end of rows of vines. She also organised a tour for us of Chateau Franc Mayne Vineyard. This was fantastic. I had no idea that there are miles and miles of caves - former quarries running below the vineyards of St Emilion. 
I have absolutely no reservation about recommending Chateau Franc Pourret. It is a real gem.

Great Stay - Great Proprietress

We  were guests for 3 days in April 2019.
The  room was  very big, decorated very nice and clean.
The owner  assisted us  in planning  and advised visits  for us  in the area .
The breakfast was very good with  self made pastries .
The Chateau located 5 minutes of driving to Saint Emilion old town.

Nice place , located very close to Saint Emilion

The house is stunning and located just outside St Emilion.  We didn’t have a car during our stay so walked into town every day, this took us about 25 minutes.
Our room was beautifully decorated, very spacious and the addition of a great coffee machine, lots of cold water in the fridge and a few chocolates by the bed side table finished off the experience of a boutique style room.
Catherine was the perfect host, she even collected us from the train station as we naively thought we could get a taxi.  The breakfast was delicious, homemade tarts, lovely bread and some lovely fruits.  Catherine was easy contactable during our stay, helping us with recommendations for trips and local restaurants.
A very relaxing stay.



What a gem...

My wife and I spent 5 days at the chateau and it is with out doubt the best place I have ever stayed. The host was extremely helpful, easy to contact and a fantastic cook. Each morning we were met with home baked pastries and fresh coffee. The rooms are of a 5 start standard or higher. Cleaned daily when we were out wine tasting. Fantastic location within a 15 minute walk through senic vineyards to the town centre.
