This hotel is ideally located in the centre of the pretty village of St Geniez d'Olt. It has a restaurant attached, and is just meters away from others.  I found the stay rather noisy due to the creaky wooden floors and outside noise at night, but would rate it as pretty good for a brief stay when visiting the village.
I was staying in the older part of the hotel. I believe there is a newer part which is  nearby. The room was clean, and came with a very small bathroom, complete with a rather curiously placed chest of drawers,, quite comfortable bed (apart from the infernal French pillows which do nothing but give you a sore neck) and TV. The toilet paper was dispensed in tiny squares from a machine on the wall. There was a broken attachment for the shower and no shower curtain, which meant water all over the place. The TV reception was spotty. There is no elevator for heavy bags, and the stairs are very creaky. I also found the landlady a bit far from friendly, but maybe she was just tired. 
On the plus side, there is wi-fi of sorts available free in the lobby area (good luck with the 26-character password!), the swimming pool is large and wonderful for relaxing beside,  breakfast is good and the location perfect.
Overall not a bad stay.

We stayed over in this hotel for a night and were very impressed by the charming town. The hotel was central, very friendly reception staff, nice room and pool. Well worth a detour and even a longer stay.

Nice hotel in a charming town

Located at a charming village square, Restaurant La Table d'Olt, of Hostellerie de la Poste, offers good value for money authentic French meals inclusive of drinks for starters, main and dessert included. The starter of seefood was very tasty, followed by a decent duck breast and chocolate mousse for desert. It is one of the few good quality restaurants in the neighbourhoud and you will not go wrong when you like French quisine.

Nice location with free parking.  Reasonable sized room. Excellent Dinner not cheap! Having been travelling for 5-6 hours I was looking forward to a nice Hot Bath. A trickle of water was emerging from the Tap so bath was taking an age to fill and was not even lukewarm. I tried to call reception but did not get a reply ( the reception area is away from the main area). I decided to go down to report the problem.  I was quite taken back when the proprietor asked in a very "sharp" tone would I please speak French (I did not realise that speaking French was a requirement to visit France!) He then called his wife and I explained the problem.  They both said the water  was 60 c and complied with French requirements.  I re-iterated that this was not the case and suggested they come to the room and inspect it personally, which  he did.  He put his hand under the trickle of water and stated it was perfect and compliant.  I disagreed and at this point was HORRIFIED AND ASTOUNDED as he called me " A STUPID WOMAN" ! I responded that I was not a stupid woman and how dare he call me such!  At this point he announced he was calling the Gendarms.  As mentioned I was shocked I would not expect such a comment from a member of staff never mind the owner!  After some time I went back downstairs to find 2 French police officers speaking to both proprietors.  I introduced myself and tried to explain the problem, it was difficult to get a word in as the owners were very excitable and very much in command of the situation as they were speaking in their national tongue.  It was their word against mine, the officers were not allowed to check the room for themselves as they said it was "private".  I advised I would collect a sample from the room to show them which I did. The situation was "stale mate " so we retired for the evening.  On return to the room we found a large cock-roach.  A perfect end to the evening!!!

Next morning I discussed the situation once again with the female owner, again unhelpful and dismissive, she waved some file at me stating the water temp. was compliant but, when I asked to see the most recent certificate /date when it was checked etc, this was not forthcoming.

I have never  in my life experienced any such treatment as a paying guest ( or otherwise) and have never had the police/ law involved.  We called into the local police station the next morning to obtain a copy of the report from the previous night.  They were extremely helpful and said there was no report as they should never have been involved in the first place as the issue was commercial and between the owner and the guests!!  WHAT A WASTE OF FRENCH TAX PAYERS MONEY CALLING THE POLICE BECAUSE OF A COMPLAINT REGARDING THE TEMPERATURE OF THE WATER!!!!!

My other concern was that of hygiene as the owners dog was very visible in the restaurant both at dinner and again at breakfast.
