The house is wonderful, made up of several rooms, constant overlooking the private park. Untouched furniture and everything a little old, including the spines and the internet that works very badly! Very chic! We loved it. Even the owner is a nice and kind man.

A gentle journey through time

we just spent a few days here.  it is really fun for Americans to stay in a French castle.  the rooms were huge, location very quiet and relaxing.  Breakfast very french.  
The owner passed away recently and the family is selling the property so who knows what happens next.  During our stay the proprietor had to leave town for a few days.  there were 6 of us in our group and we were the only people on the property...it was very fun.  we got great suggestions of local things to do from the proprietor which enhanced our trip greatly.

wifi was dismal.  either pay to use data from your carrier or take yourself offline for a few days....

So fun, relaxing and historic

It is an ancient priory dating from around the fourteenth century with an annex to the consecrated church of the twelfth century. It is located near the famous castle of Chenonceau and Amboise. The enchanting place is immersed in the midst of the vineyards and enjoys absolute peace and tranquility. The rooms are accessed via a helical staircase located inside a tower.

Living in the Renaissance

Amazing place with excellent location and very nice host! Clean and tidy, nice garden, very old building. We had the feeling we were royalties. Someone dedicated his life to make that place looking the way it is! Thank you for beeing able to see it. We highly recommend it!

The most amazing place I have ever been!

The interior of this charming castle is beautifully decorated with antiques and 16th century furniture. The pool is very private and surrounded by nice bushes and flowers. The continental breakfast while simple is set up for Prince with fresh croissants, brioche, homemade yogurts with silverware and porcelain. The host is efficient and respectful, providing advice on castles to visit, activities to do and places to eat in Montrichard. A couple downsides are: the cleanliness of the rooms (there were a lot of spiderwebs on the ceiling and dust under the bed and on the rugs) and the air conditioning was not working during our stay.

Beautiful castle and peaceful place

We slept in the tower room, spacious, well decorated, with beautiful furniture, just like the breakfast room, the large living room with its gigantic carpet, the potion collection, the 12th century chapel is intimate.

The beauty lies in the plain outlook of the castle and its quiet surroundings.  Especially in the morning, it's perfect to breathe the fresh air in the garden and take a walk around the castle.  There's a small chapel next to the living quarter.  It's built in the 12th century, very ancient structure inside and out.  It's the best part i like about this castle.

A beautiful castle for a romantic holiday in the Loire Valley

This is a beautiful place to stay, full of history and character in a quiet area. We were warmly welcomed and looked after by our charming hostess. We speak some French which was just as well, as Madame doesn't speak English. The Priory is convenient for driving out and exploring the Loire Valley area, and we visited the wonderful Chateau Chenonceau nearby. There are no restaurants within walking distance, but Montrichard, about five miles away, is an attractive historic town with plenty of restaurants.
