This B&B is situated in the countryside approximately 7km west of Aix-en-Provence.  It is a good location from which to visit the area.  It s preferable to use a GPS to get there.  A small road sign along the main road advertises the B&B. A narrow lane leads to a locked metal gate of the property. A buzzer is required to announce your arrival.  You will be given a remote key to enter for the remainder of your stay.  Jean-Christophe, your host and proprietor will give you a tour of the property.  We stayed in the "Jardin" room, the main floor room of a 2 floor structure separate from the main house.  Fresh bread, and buns, cheese and jams make up breakfast which is served in the main house. There is a microwave in the room to eat up snacks and quick meals if you wish to stay at home.  Our room was spacious and had a sitting area complete with cable TV.  If you want to know what to do, where to go and how to get there ask Jean-Chirstophe and he will take great pleasure in helping you out.  

One thing to remember is that about 500m away B&B can be found a pizza truck that prepares great European style thin crust pizza.  There is also a traveling wine truck there on most nights.

Hidden B&B in Saint-Marc-Jaumearde

This was our first stop on a three week trip to France. A beautiful spot with a friendly & helpful host. A large, comfortable room and most of all quiet! Breakfast was great and we took advantage of a pizza truck parked a short walk away for our first night when we didn’t want to go out. Would definitely recommend this charming spot!

Lovely place!

October 19-26, 2022. La Ferme in Saint-Marc Jaumegarde, a 15-minute drive from Aix-en-Provence, is among the nicest places I’ve ever stayed in! Four residential units - Provence rustic style – are cradled in trees, in addition to a big lawn, a fish pond and a small swimming pool (just for cooling off and relaxing). Although we were one couple, we received a full family unit with a small living-room and refrigerator on the ground floor and two large rooms a few steps up. There was a beautiful modern shower as well as a deep old-fashioned bathtub in the main sleeping room. Our front yard included a wooden table and chairs, where we often picnicked with two friends who were booked at La Ferme as well. Other units too have outdoor furniture, perfect for drinking wine and eating camembert from a nearby supermarket. Each day’s breakfast (juice, eggs, cheeses, jams, baguettes, croissants, coffee—all in abundance) was prepared by the owner, Jean-Christoph Fournier, who does all the work on the place, speaks perfect English and is very charming and helpful.
The four of us used La Ferme as a base for daily excursions to other Provence locations, seven nights in total.
What to look out for: not all units are as commodious as the one we had, so find out in advance which unit you are getting and what it contains. Mosquitos live well in Provence, and La Ferme is no exception. Come prepared. 


Among the nicest places I’ve ever stayed in

Beautiful landscape, beautiful old house, large pool, good breakfast and a quite place. 40 min drive to the see, stores around, places to visit near. I totally recommend if you are interested in a relaxing vacation with or without children.

Place to relax and have a quiet stay

A very French Country Setting. If you want a small break from the everyday hustle and bustle, this is the place. Beautiful property with lots of space, lovely outside breakfast area, next to a very active Koi Pond. Our room was not a room but a house! Enough space to almost get lost in! When staying in Aix, this the only place to book!

French Country B&B

Just come back from a lovely stay of 5 nights/6 days. Perfect host and wonderful place. Pictures cannot do justice to the quiet atmosphere, the smell of the flowers and the relaxing enviroment. Lovely Bergerie rooms very clean and confortable.
It's the perfect stay , we loved the lawn full of flowers, breakfast in the open air and host kindness and cooperation.
It's very near Aix en Provance with its restaurants and lively atmosphere, and 1 hour/1 hour and a half distance to Camargue, Valensole, Luberon.
I will come back for sure (hopefully soon).

Great place, great stay

We stayed in Chambre Ermitage for our stay. It was perfect! Very quiet, secluded, clean and plenty of room. The breakfast each morning was delicious and we had lovely conversations with the owner and other guests.

A wonderful, comfortable stay

La Ferme is wonderful, and John the host is more than happy to help you with anything you need or information about the local area. 

We were lucky enough to spend the first afternoon by the pool which was lovely. 

Breakfast is served outside in the garden when it’s hot enough and inside Johns gorgeous home otherwise. You will be served fresh yoghurt, boiled eggs, fruit, pastries and bread, coffee, tea and juice. It is nice to chat and meet other guests while enjoying the breakfast. 

Our room was a double room with 2 bathrooms which was spotless and very spacious. Body lotion and shampoo is provided also. 

You are provided a private table and chairs you can use while enjoying local wine and cheese. 

Would definitely stay here again in accomodation that optimises the old style rural South of France. 



Perfect stay just outside Aix

You can’t go wrong staying at this lovely place. Even during the extraordinary heatwave, our room was comfortable. A daily swim helped! Jean was an excellent host, providing helpful recommendations and maps, a satisfying breakfast, and lovely conversation. Our room was a welcome retreat after touring the area all day . And don’t miss the wonderful pizza truck down the road.
