We "stumbled" on this recently and will now ensure we stay again. The welcome was so friendly. We ate and drank well then a great nights sleep.Le Soleil d"Or has been refurbished to a very high standard. The owner, Andie, was an excellent host and the other overnight guests were many times repeat guests which spoke well of their experience. The wood burning stove gave the restaurant/bar area an extra warmth!

Friendly, Quality Rooms and Food. Great Atmosphere

The dining was simple but good, the breakfast was very good, the establishment was very good, Andy the Scottish welcomed our small group of walkers but he seemed tired and tired, life in these small villages when you are a stranger must not be easy, the people of Catillonnais are narrow-minded but I will come back to make him a little nap and speak English with him around a good cup of tea

An ecosais in Burgundy

We spent one night with a couple of friends in this character hostel. The facade is rather casual but what a comfort inside. The rooms are very cosy. We each had a room with a large bed and private bathroom. Well decorated, spacious and soundproofed rooms. Andy our host, of Scottish origin, talks passionately about his adopted region. A very rich continental lunch with fresh croissants, sticks and fruit. At Andy's request, we recommend you prepare a simple dinner. One step to take very warmly.

Postal service to Scotland in Burgundy

The hotel has 4 bedrooms (including 2 with private bathroom and WC, the other 2 have a shared bathroom), the rooms are well decorated, and the comfortable bed (only a bémol; bed a little small, we measure 1.88 and 1.81 m). The establishment is located, on a national road (a little passing), not far from friendly walking paths, to discover this beautiful area. The hotel also has a swimming pool (out of the ground) in a courtyard. You can dine on site, but we only had breakfast, which was not a fast break in English, to follow the place and its host family!

It's a Scottish atmosphere in Burgundy!

We've read so many fabulous reviews that I wonder if we're talking about the same person. The more pleasant the place is with this old building hidden behind a fairly simple façade, the more pleasant the rooms, the more surprising the reception. Breakfast is a pleasant one.

Surprisingly

Looking for accommodation for our wedding in Aisey on the Seine, we happened to meet Andy, who welcomed us warmly into his atypical but so warm establishment! The rooms are set up in a very old building, but with taste and modernity. The decor is remarkable, most of the paintings are made by the Master of the House. Do not hesitate to stop even to taste a fresh beer, or eat a piece, it's worth the visit!

What a character!

What a friendly welcome! Great host, lovely food and cosy revamped rooms would love to take the shower home with me! All tailored to suit our movements/schedule. Very flexible. Comfy beds , very well presented ( do you iron the sheets on the beds!?) they are so smart, straight, flat not a crease in sight.

First class all round

This is a quite exceptional find.  The rooms are to the very highest standard and Andie is welcoming and helpful host without being overwhelming and is also an interesting person to talk to.  I stayed here for six days and enjoyed every one of them.  Really looking forward to a return visit

A Good Address

can't praise this high enough!  Place has been refurbished to a very high standard and rooms are spacious and comfortable, Andie the owner could not have been more helpful and went out of his way to make my stay comfortable, even got up early on Sunday to do breakfast.  Will see you again my friend - not with the bus next time though!

Great place

The very kind proprietor did a marvellous job in renovating this old building, with passion and taste. The rooms and corridors are spacious and comfortable, and downstairs is a pub-like room in which we were served an excellent meal and breakfast. We felt very welcome here. 
The hotel is good for a nights stay when 'en route', but also to stay longer and see the region or the towns of Dijon and Langres.
