I was visiting Val Thorens with some friends. And to be fair it wasn’t awful, however it didn’t match the price tag at all. Our room had mold and was quite cramped, in addition to that the interior and the general design inside the building was cheap, dirty and worn-out. The doors are in no way soundproof and you can hear everything. The interior made it look like a stereotypical Soviet Russian apartment. 
However the location is ideal for nightlife, skiing or grocery shopping and that is the only upside to this hotel other than the pizza shop right outside entrance A.

Not worth it for the price

We stayed in an apartment in this block. It was advertised as a 1 bedroom apartment  however it turned out to be one very small room with the smallest bathroom in the world. It had a shower and a tooilet but if you were heaver than the 80 KG I am then you would not fit in the shower. The room was meant to sleep 4 people but it barely fitted the 2 of us. The door on the only cupboard was hanging off, one of the light switches was hanging off the wall and 2 of the lights didn't;t work. We paid 800 Euros for 4 nights and I still can't believe they could charge that. The only upside was it was right on the slopes.

Just stayed at La Vaniose apartment and would never stay there again

Apartment was basic but affordable- this apartment is all about the location- .walk 5m and you are into the vast 3 valleys ski area. 
 The toilet is separate to the bathroom which is great but you may need to be a contortionist or 5ft tall to sit down on the toilet!! 
Apartment is a little tatty in appearance but great to put your head down and ski- which is what you are here for. No kettle in room as per most French apartments but we asked the agency for one and a brand new one appeared! 
Also the Maylaysia night club is just outside- if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs!!

Pretty basic but loving the location

The overall experience is good as we only stay in La Vanoise to eat and sleep and spend the whole day snowboarding. You basically get what you pay for. Unfortunately my friends tried to use the toaster but upon switching it on, it got broken and exploded. it damage the metal part of the stove top where they placed it and half of the plugs were also affected.

I stayed in La Vanoise earlier this year. I'd say overall the experience was OK but not great. However that's what you'd expect for the price which was very low. €150 per person per week in a ski resort in France is a great price.

The location was excellent - right in the centre of the resort and you could easily ski from the door. The bedding was also pretty comfortable to sleep on. The shower was a bit slow to drain but otherwise warm and perfectly fine - I've used a lot worse in my time. There was a fridge which we used, as well as a decent amount of cooking equipment which we didn't bother with. The ski lockers were old, but also were perfectly adequate.

With regards to the negatives, the room was sometimes a bit noisy at closing time from Bar Malaysia which was directly below and stayed open until about 2am - but it was perfectly sleepable with earplugs. The room walls were also clearly pretty thin, so if people were noisy that would be an issue - though they seemed to have a zero tolerance policy for noise, so you could just complain if it was an issue.

This wouldn't be an issue at all for those people staying on the North Side of the building. It might well have been more annoying on a lower floor as well - we were on the 5th floor.

The room was also a little small, but again that's what you'd expect for the price. Additionally the deposit for the keys was pretty high (€150) - but as the room was so cheap I guess that's expected - you just have to look after them!
