We stayed here for one night as an overnight stay on the way down to the South.  We booked two rooms.  The hotel has a lot going for it and the young proprietor was extremely helpful.  The bedrooms where very basic, but clean and comfortable.  We had a meal in the restaurant which was delicious and very well presented.  It was a shame that we were the only people there.  Breakfast very adequate.  The hotel needs more life as very dark reception but when lit hosted some very quirky items to compliment the hotel.  Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is right at entry to the old Grands Goulets highway which was closed about 2004 and replaced by the nearby tunnel. Apparently the hotel was closed for about 7 years and is being "revived" by its current owner since 2014.  The only staff we encountered were 2 relatives of the actual owner, both were charming and helpful but unfortunately couldn't make up for the building which has changed little since apparently the 1940s.  Modernisation seems to be taking place with the idea of retaining a "retro" feel but on such a limited and "DIY" budget that even the low price of the rooms makes it hard to recommend for more than a passing night - only a small number of the 30? rooms seemed to be occupied and we never saw any other guests at all. The restaurant seats perhaps 100 and seems to get reasonable reviews but we didn't eat there, only having breakfast in the cafe and walking a short way in the hotel "garden" at the back. This gives a brief view of the Grands Goulets itself, which is apparently closed for good because it to dangerous even for foot traffic due to rock falls, narrowness and lack of any safety barriers over the precipices.

We stayed a single night, and it was too long, and the only positive thing I could come up with is that it was a roof over our heads.

I am not that tall and my wife even smaller, but the bed was not long enough for either of us which meant our feet were hanging out the end.  Items in the bathroom were broken.  Our friends could not lock their door.  I could go on.

The hotel is on a main road, and there is absolutely no sound proofing to prevent the noise of a passing lorry making it feel like they are about to drive through the room.

The owners look like they are trying to restore the hotel to what was once its former glory, but short of ripping out the insides and starting again, I am not sure it is working.
