Suzanne and Peter are lovely hosts and welcome you into their home. The location for exploring is super, and the property is idyllic. The breakfasts served in the garden are lovely and there’s lots of areas to rest and relax in private gardens and a good sized pool. If you struggle with steps, or are tall then you want to avoid the top floor when making your reservation.

It was a wonderful two night stay for us! 

Lovely respite 

Stayed here for a few nights. First, the breakfast is delightful. Served in the garden with ample food to last you the whole day. Lots of fresh fruit, great cheese, meats, breads, cereals, yogurts, etc. 

The pool area is beautiful. The room (ours was a suite on the top floor) was spacious with a sitting area separate from the bedroom with little windows looking out to the patio/pool area. 

The town itself is wonderfully small and quaint. Perfect for dinner and strolls. I much prefer to stay in this little quiet town and venture into bigger cities temporarily. You really feel small town French charm here. There’s also a bike/running path nearby that goes through vineyards and orchards. 

Highly recommend this B&B with extremely helpful and friendly hosts who speak great English by the way. 

Wonderful stay

Recently stayed 5 days in Saint Maximin at Villa Fauve. Suzanne and Peter were the perfect hosts who made our stay just wonderful. The Villa is absolutely stunning, lovely courtyards, gardens and the design of the Villa provides the most amazing rooms. Breakfast served in the gardens every morning. Daily fresh produce, croissants and baguettes was something we looked forward to. Lovely family run restaurant in the village meant a 2 minute walk from the Villa and the food was wonderful. A short drive to Uzes with complimentary parking provided easy access to  a wonderful day out with weekend markets, restaurants and delighful boutiques. The beautiful residence of the Duchess, as is the small villages dotted around the region worth visiting. We loved our stay at Villa Fauve and cannot thank Suzanne and Peter enough for their warm hospitality.

A piece of paradise.

When we booked our vacation at Villa Fauve, our expectations were high. The images online, the reviews, the recommendation – all promised a one of a kind experience. When we drove into St. Maximine and found ourselves in front of the grand wooden entrance door we knew we had found a jewel. Suzanne and Peter greeted us and we felt immediately at home. They showed us the beautiful house and gardens – we instantly fell in love with everything.  And our expectations were excelled by far! We were greeted with a wonderful homemade breakfast every morning: fresh French cheese, various fruit and berries, a choice of juices and a delicious breadbasket – every morning breakfast was one of our daily highlights. Suzanne and Peter gave us an array of great restaurant tips – all of which held everything that was promised. Afternoons were spent in the beautiful garden and right by the lovely pool. The garden was so peaceful and quiet; it was easy to forget everything else. We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Fauve with Suzanne and Peter – because of the incredible beauty of the place and even more so because of the extraordinary hospitality of our two hosts. A home away from home. And we cannot wait to return.

A piece of heaven on earth

We had a wonderful 6 nights at Villa Fauve. The location, hosts and property were everything we had hoped for. We stayed in the Vlaminck suite on the top floor which was very spacious and had all the modern amenities combined with lovely decoration - air con and free wifi are provided. We had to buy a "bouquet parfum" before we went home! The swimming pool on the property was also quiet and very clean and it made for some lovely relaxing afternoons.

The real highlight though was the exceptional service provided by both Suzanne and Peter. From excellent restaurant tips (and booking if required) to the lending of a map to show us the best villages in the area, the hosts were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Breakfast in the morning (between 9am and 10am) was a particular highlight with fresh bread, croissants, excellent cheese, yoghurts, cereal, juices, tea or coffee, a bowl of fresh fruits and the best jams you can possibly imagine (Strawberry with Rose and Pineapple with mint were two highlights). Suzanne will even tell you where you can buy them from in Uzes. 

A drink was offered one evening as an "apero" and you could ask for refreshments by the pool for around €2 - e.g Lemonade, water, coke, iced tea etc. (not sure why one Tripadvisor reviewer commented that refreshments were not available at the pool).

The village of Saint Maximin, where the house is located, is lovely and peaceful and has a great restaurant which we ended up going to twice. It is also very close to Uzes which is really busy but great for eating out and walking around. We would not hesitate to come back if we get the opportunity in the future.
