Off the beaten path for sure, this castle and surrounding land was breathtaking! Florence and Pablo welcomed us along with their three big dogs - who are all bark but love a good scratch behind the ears. We stayed in the guesthouse area that was once a silk farm. The suite we stayed in was carefully designed with much attention to detail. Each suite/room had so much personality and different details it was hard to pick one! 
You have an option to add dinner for two - do it!!!!! Florence is not only a wonderful hostess but an amazing chef! A true culinary experience like no other. 
We also enjoyed spending time giving the horses treats and brushing them. The pool was just lovely and a wonderful oasis for relaxation.

Perfect getaway in the French Countryside!

We were on our own in the château, and had our own private meal (superb – everything homemade and at a very high level of cuisine) in the very special dining room. We very much enjoyed the discussions with Pablo and Florence. The room was had a unique charm, but so did the whole place. The grounds are beautifully kept. Unfortunately it was too cold on 1st May to use the swimming pool.

Treated like king and queen!

This is honestly one of those special places you only find rarely. The serene peaceful quiet, the wonderful scenery, the castle, the super kind owners and last but not least the tastefully refurbished rooms is a unique find. We had a wonderful 3 night stay with our little 8month old and could not have been treated any better. I am so glad there are still these kind of family run places where owners keep pride in there work and which is not a obligatoire 5* place where guest usually complain about what is not to their liking rather than what is. Having said that, the owners try their every bit to make it a 5* experience. The rooms are so unique and the precious work to refurbish them in their old grandeur is amazing.

We were indeed treated like royalty and it could, in our humble opinion, not have been any better. All you desire is there, just ask. Dinner is wonderful and the wine list is excellent. Florence and Pablo are not only wonderful hosts but also super nice and kind company and full of excellent advise. (Anything you want to know about Rhone wines and the best domains to buy them just ask Pablo, he really knows his stuff). 
Wonderful place, you wont be disappointed. We will remember our stay for a while and hope to come back. Truly relaxing, truly wonderful.

Fabulous: Super Tranquile Place

The stay at the Chateau was incredible. The rooms were large and perfectly decorated, they were clean and cosy. I fell in love with not only the Chateau but Florence ( and her cooking) Pablo Lou and Fleur!

Princess for a weekend! 

We had an amazing experience at Chateau du Besset. Florence and Pablo made us feel as if we were part of their family. The meal they cooked for Dinner was easily one of the best dinners we had in our 17 day trip throughout southern France and Italy. The views of the surrounding countryside were magnificent.  Florence and Pablo could not have been more accommodating or hospitable. Highly, highly recommend spending a night at Chateau du Besset if you are in this region and want an incredible experience staying at a Chateau. One tip, for those travelling without wifi/cell service; be sure to look out for Florence's directionssent via email. Getting the Chateau w/o these and dependin on GPS can be tricky; with the directions VERY EASY.  Great work Flo and Pablo. Hope to see you again soon!

Amazing Experience!

The overall standard of Chateau du Besset was wholly inadequate. The room was tired, dated and musty smelling and the bathroom left a lot to be desired, it should have been changed years ago. As for the dining room, there was no way we could have eaten in there as it it had a very strong musty damp smell which the owners had tried but failed to disguise using air freshener and febreeze and had only succeeded in making it worse and to add to that it was was not aesthetically pleasing in any way as it resembled a cheap cafe which I would have not stepped foot into.
We politely told the owners that we did not wish to stay as it really was not what we were expecting, the female owner, who I believe to be called Florence became verbally aggressive and accused us of not respecting her or her work and demanded that before we left we must pay in full for the room and dinner. As we had had a long day of driving we did not want to be upset or annoyed in any way so to keep the peace we unwillingly paid 245 euros without any discount for not staying in the room and not having anything to eat.
As A B&B this place is hugely overpriced, probably at least double what its true value should be, however I would pay not to stay here as I actually did!
I found Florence & Pablo to be nothing but rude ignorant bullies who do not have the finesse or refinement to run their business in a professional way.
Finally due to an incident which occurred there I would advise anybody to be aware of the 'integrity' of these people.
