We visited the town and stopped off here for lunch which was a good choice. We had our two Jack Russells with us and the staff offered them a bowl of water. The food was excellent, we had the lunch time menu for the day, three course with wine, cider, water and coffee all for 40 euros. Would happily come back again on another trip, the food could not be faulted, excellently presented.

Good Food

We weren't  expecting a lot from this fairly ordinary looking 2 star roadside hotel  but it turned out to be an inspired choice. The service was friendly and helpful. We had a room at the rear of the hotel overlooking the car park and fields beyond.The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was a very generous size. 
The real surprise  was the quality of the food in the restaurant....a really enjoyable meal. Breakfast was  also worth the extra €8 each. The view from the restaurant is the mainly ruined castle which dates from the 11th century.

Very enjoyable stay

Well located in a small town,easy to find as opposite the castle and grounds. The room was a good size and very clean. The beds were very comfortable with good linen and we found it quiet so slept well. 
The breakfast is worth the extra cost as it was fresh and plentiful and we also enjoyed our meal the night before. 
We were there on a Sunday night so if we hadn't eaten there we would have had to drive to a larger town, the only other restaurant was shut.

As we were off to the UK over Valentines day thought that we would go to the restaurant on the Saturday before.

Nice friendly welcome and we were shown to a table by the window, next to a radiator thank goodness, as the weather was bitter. After looking at the menu decided to go for the St Valentine menu, this was €38 and consisted of 6 courses of creme brulee of fois gras, sea bass, trou normand, lovely steak and vegetables, cheese and chocolate dome. We had a carafe of rosé which was very good. All in all thought the meal was superb. The staff were vey attentive as well.

We have driven past this hotel on a number of occasions and it always looks nice with its ivy covered facade , so when we decided to go and watch the Tour De France this year we booked it for 3 nights .
It is welcoming if a little utilitarian (you are not paying for fancy here) The rooms are large with nice bathrooms with good shower and all in good clean condition.
Beds were very comfortable.
Breakfast is Continental with good coffee selection of cold meats cereals juice croissant and french bread as well as fruit. (no bacon and eggs here but all fresh and tasty.
We ate in the restaurant for the 3 evenings which says a lot about the place food was interesting with a good selection  although like most French chefs the lamb is walked past the oven rather than cooked (they call it rose I call it raw) but it was tender and tasty, deserts were excellent as was the local cider .
Is the the perfect little hotel well the only downsides were the dining room carpet which is used for weddings etc it was badly stained and in need of replacement . The WIFI did not work in our bedroom it was to far from the hub and if you have a room on the roadside you will need to close your double glazed windows at night as road noise is an issue , this is OK i spring but could be a problem if it gets hot.
This is a great little hotel with no pretensions offering all you need and a good little restaurant as well . I will definitely go again if in the area.

A Great little 2 star Hotel

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst watching the first stage of the Tour de France. Hotel is on the main road into the village but not too noisy. Room was comfortable and a good size which was adequate for our needs. We had the breakfast in the hotel which was 8 euros, we hadn't planned to but there were limited places for breakfast.
We didn't have any evening meals in the hotel. Overall it was a fine stay for a couple of nights.
