We greatly enjoyed our stay at this small hotel. The rooms are large, spotlessly clean,  and very comfortable, decorated in a traditional style but with modern amenities. Our "privilege" room had  lovely views of the surrounding countryside.  Dinner and breakfast are included in the price of the room and were a delight.  M. Ric is a very talented chef. Our diners were delicious and varied, featuring local ingredients and specialties. When we stayed at this hotel many years ago, the restaurant was very popular and open to the wider public. Now, M. Ric cooks only for hotel guests, offering a 3-course set menu every evening, after consultation with guests in the morning about their preferences. We had great fun talking to him about plans for our dinners.  Dinner and breakfast are served either in the dining room or the terrace, both of which overlook the beautiful rural countryside and the hotel's extensive gardens. M. and Mme Ric are fantastic hosts, and gave us great information and advice about the area, leading us to visit a museum and view we would otherwise have missed. Villa Ric is the type of small, family-run hotel-restaurant that is rapidly disappearing, (much to our loss and regret.). We highly recommend it! 

Wonderful family-run hotel with delcious food. 

Our two stay in this hotel proved to most enjoyable and comfortable. The food was excellent with dinner prepared for us by our hosts Jean-Pierre and Elisabeth. Our room was comfortable and clean with the added advantage of a near silent air conditioning system. The location of the hotel perched upon the hillside, provided glorious views and made dinner and breakfast times rather special. Our only regret was that we had only booked a two night stay. Next time we will stay longer.

A wonderful stay

Our 3rd visit in late June to this wonderful hotel. M. & Mme Ric who run it are charming, welcoming and absolutely brilliant at running the perfect hotel. The hotel itself is surrounded by countryside and  overlooks a beautiful valley. In the evenings , after another superb dinner cooked to perfection by Monsieur Ric (who is a chef extraordinaire) it is our delight to watch the sun go down over the valley while  sitting on the terrace. Madame Ric keeps the delightful rooms in perfect order. Charming rooms with every facility. The swimming pool is superb, particularly in the summer heat.
There are many beautifully preserved little towns and villages to visit and it is a joy to know that we can end each day in this most hospitable hotel.
A bientot, until next year, when we will definitely be returning!

Another Perfect holiday!

We stayed here with two other couples as part of a walking holiday.  This is a very comfortable small hotel with an excellent restaurant. Only sorry we we were not able to take full advantage of the hotel's garden and pool area on this occasion.

Excellent restaurant with comfortable rooms

We only stayed two nights and wish it could have been longer. Jean-Pierre prepared dinner for us on both nights after asking us what we would like to eat. Elisabeth was always on hand to ensure we had everything we needed. Villa Ric is such a beautiful place we sat out on the balcony just watching the sun going down with a gin and tonic, wine and eating some nibbles thoughtfully brought out by Jean-Pierre. Whilst the pool looked great we just did not seem to have time to use it. Our bedroom was superb, good shower, absolutely spotless and very restful. Breakfast was excellent again fresh pastries prepared for us. Lots of information was available on where to go and we went to the caves Gouffre de Padirac,, which were wonderful, and the village of Loubressac.

Such a memorable stay

This is our first Tripadvisor review as we believe Villa Ric so deserves one!  It has been 10 years since we last did a touring holiday of one of France's many regions.  We booked this "blindly" as there were not many reviews.  JP and Elisabeth's house is in the charming Quercy/Lot area where there seems to be less British tourists!  Upon arrival the welcome could not have been warmer, just like in Yorkshire.  Their enthusiasm to help or assist in any way continued throughout our week's stay with them.  They run this Logis with great passion and no outside help.  Elisabeth oversees housekeeping (spotlessly clean) and serves dinner.  JP provides breakfast and cooks amazing dinners!  They are only offered to staying guests so it's like dining at a friend's house!  On our last day he asked us what we'd like to eat that evening.  We were in room Lilas which was well worth the extra space although the bath was too small!  The pool was a godsend as we were very lucky with the weather.  As there are only 5 rooms, quite often we would have it to ourselves and there's plenty of shade for cooling down!  With our rusty O Level French and JP's English we managed to communicate quite well and they have a lovely sense of humour.

Small minor problems:  nowhere to "walk off" dinner as its location is on a hilly road with no pavement or lighting.  Bread could have been better quality at both breakfast and dinner.  Fresh fruit salad at breakfast and more vegetables with dinner would have been perfect.



Delightful!!

A perfect stay, it is hard to say what was the best. Jean-Pierre is a great chef who cooks for you every evening, Elisabeth runs a great establishment, gardens, bedrooms and terrace all wonderfully cared for. The air conditioning was very welcome in the hot weather. The pool is delightful, the views expansive. A real find and we would love to return again. We stayed for four nights in early September.
