Very good staff who were keen to do anything to help. The room was in an annexe, very average room , paper cups, bad hair dryer lights that had to be pressed on. An OK hotel improved by the happy and helpful staff. Food was average with a limited menu.Staff in spa was excellent.

Ordinary but welcoming

Just stayed one night on our way back to Bergerac airport - friendly welcome great food restaurant is very popular locally -  nice swimming pool there is a spa but we did not use it - great view of river from room - really good hotel

Nice restaurant Nice pool

This was our 4th stay over a period of 15 years and the hotel never disappoints. Our room (above the restaurant) was new to us as the riverside rooms were already booked but its small balcony had a wonderful view and the room itself very comfortable. The only issue was that the outside steps to the 1st floor are extremely slippery when it has rained! Restaurant superb in every way - dinner a delight- and (with one exception ) staff really efficient, helpful and friendly. We will return whenever we can be in the area!

Another great visit

Very comfortable room overlooking the Vers stream and old town buildings. Lovely balcony and very comfortable bed. Breakfast and dinners excellent with staff very friendly and welcome. We visit usually twice a year and are never disappointed.

Pampering on the riverbank of Lot

La Truite is always special with its location in a small sub-commune where the smaller River Vers meets the mighty Lot. The rooms have lovely views and are very comfortable. The food and wine is very local and excellently cooked and served by the most cheerful team in the pretty dining room or adjoining terraces. With cloudless skies it is even prettier.

Lovely 2 night stay in n this very well run hotel. Both breakfast and dinner excellent. Dinner in the restaurant exceptional. Helpful staff . We stayed in annex as wanted to overlook the ( sadly very low) river. Straightforward hotel bedroom with tea/ coffee and air conditioning . Quiet

Lovely 2 night stay

We chose this hotel as a stopover to cut a long drive back from our holiday, and could not have made a better choice. We loved the warm welcome and the rooms, and of course the lovely village and the restaurant. Best of all was the dip in the pool before breakfast before heading home. We will certainly come again! Merci beaucoup!

Lovely!

Wonderful 5 day break again at La Truite Doree, but our first time in spring. Wonderful warm, sunny weather for the time of year, combined with the comforts of one of our favourite hotels and its splendid, straightforward and delicious food. Staff are excellent and so helpful.  Looking forward to our next visit in autumn.

Late April Sunshine

We stayed (again) at la truite Doree and were not disappointed; the room was very clean and wel maintained, the service for breakfast and dinner were excellent and the food was wonderful!  The location is great for a walk along the Lot. Thank you very much - we will be back.
