Thank you Anne Marie for the kindness, hospitality, advice from restaurants and cellars and massage with Marion! Magical place, haven of peace, beautiful garden with the river at the end.

It's a little paradise.

The guest room is very quiet despite the road.The reception of the owner is at the top...She is the most available.The breakfast taken from the window overlooking a pigeon, is like home. Maybe it would be useful to modernize the bathroom 😉 we will go back there..

A lovely, romantic place.

Although we were late for traffic reasons, we were welcomed by the owner, who also arranged a short-term appointment for us at a restaurant in a neighbouring town. The bed was very stable and had an excellent mattress. The heater was switched on in advance because of a cold night, pleasant. The breakfast was good, the owner was very friendly. Small place near Chablis.

Nice room and bathroom

One night in the brilliant trailer! the space is big inside, you sleep very well. The decor is very nice. Everything is made to have a nice time. Long table and chairs, barbecue with coal next to a beautiful pigeon. Breakfast is very cozy. The reception is impeccable. Efficiency, discretion, smile. Recommendation to recharge.

It's super expensive.

The reception in this beautiful old-fashioned villa at the gates of Chablis was perfect. With great availability we were given the best information to visit the area and support in managing bookings (restaurants and later nights). The room as you can see in the photos was beautiful, furnished with taste and care in every detail. The rich and complete, very genuine breakfast is served in a beautiful living room overlooking the garden.

A perfect welcome!

We stayed at L'Ecrin du Serein for four days over the Easter holiday period. The homestay is located in a very beautiful part of Burgundy and is well positioned for easy day trips by car to nearby Noyers, Chablis, Tonnerre, Auxerre and places along the Canal de Nivernais as far as Vezelay. 

We stayed in the "circus caravan" located in the garden and loved coming back to a place where we could self cater each evening. The caravan was very comfortable and warm. 

We had initially booked a room in the house which I can assure you is large, immaculate and equally as good if you are not interested in self catering. Anne Marie and François were exceptional hosts. 

The breakfasts they provided each morning were generous and the information and suggestions provided for our forays into the countryside extremely helpful.  

The village itself is very pretty and you must put aside some time to walk along the Serein where you will spot egrets fishing amongst the river reeds, hawks wheeling overhead and an explosion of wild flowers and herbs along the paths (at this time of year at least). We were surprised at the incredible value of this accomodation. 

By the way, Anne Marie speaks perfect English - a distinct advantage for anyone who struggles in French.

Exceptional, Welcoming, Warm Comfortable and Well Positioned

We spent a pleasant stay in the suite, not to mention the reception with the welcome apero served in the room, the housewife who offered to find us a restaurant in the vicinity, a cozy little dejununier and very varied, all in a beautiful home.

We stayed one night in this guest house (July 2015): very nice. Beautiful garden, tennis court, very beautiful blue room. The owners are charming. With a good restaurant within 2 minutes walk. Good and cozy lunch. I don't understand the negative comments, maybe the house was under construction in 2013?

It's a very nice place.

Four of us stayed here for an overnight stop between the Alps and Calais.
We arrived late afternoon and were warmly welcomed with tea/coffee and homemade cake by our charming host.

The breakfast and sitting areas are in a large space with a fabulous wooden staircase and high beams.  This is made very cosy with a wood burning stove.  Our two rooms were in a self-contained apartment or mini suite and were appointed to a very high standard.  The toiletries were wonderful.

Breakfast was excellent, including home made bread, pancakes, fruit cocktail, jams, honey, tea, coffee etc.  Again, this was charmingly presented by our host who spoke excellent English and was really interesting to talk with.

We had an excellent dinner in Chablis at "Le Bistrot des Grands Crus" (Reviewed separately)

This was an excellent stopover on our journey and is highly recommended.  We will return.

Exquisite Rural Interlude

We spent three very pleasant nights in an atypical lapis lazuli room, comfortable and conducive to relaxation, reading, the pleasure of being both, away from the stress and agitation of everyday life, in a beautiful place, with very welcoming, discreet and yet present hosts to meet our expectations, especially when we left at 6:30 a.m. on the last days.
