This is a fine dining destination with rooms five in all 
We decided to stay overnight on our return trip from Troys to Lausanne to have another fine dining opportunity but dinner rather than lunch
The chateau is just outside Dole in a tranquil setting with beautiful grounds with a terrace overlooking the swimming pool.
We booked a standard room overlooking the grounds and the swimming pool which met our requirements - we appreciated the bedside focus lamps. It was a little surprising that there was only one miniscule shower gel ,no shampoo,for two persons 
The breakfast was an additional cost €15 each.There were aspects of the breakfast which were puzzling.The fruit dish was pineapple pieces drowned in sweet pineapple juice - we found that bizarre when we are in season of red berries an apricots.We were also surprisingly given rich cakes as well as standard french breakfast pain au chocolate croissant and baguette.The orange juice was obviously from a container but certainly not Andros at least I do not consider this a healthy breakfast.There are other options low sugar cereal eggs ham and cheese.It does not reflect that you are staying in a fine dining restaurant


Little disappointing

The restaurant is located in beautiful private surroundings.Originally  a private mansion with a modern extension to house the tastefully decorated restaurant with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the grounds.It is a restaurant with rooms so a leisurely drive across Swiss-French border for a dining experience and head to bed a perfect scenario for another occasion but we were delighted to stopover here for lunch on our return to Lausanne from Semur en Auxois
It was a memorable dining experience with five courses including cheese selection notwithstanding canapés,amuse bouche,pre-dessert and petit fours
Each dish as images show was an exquisite piece of art - the quality was in the products used and the detail and balance of subtle flavours.
The service was professional efficient and seamless with the details of each dish explained.The chef attending our table to gain our experience is what you would expect or hope for at end of service 
A 2hr drive is nothing when this awaits you at the other end - we will be back

Exceptional restaurant in beautiful surroundings

Our room was a bit bare, especially for it's size and price but had a lovely balcony and view.  Not far from motorway for a stopover and has an excellent restaurant.  Staff slightly on the "too professional" side, could have been a bit more friendly and less formal.  Would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities but probably due to Covid-19.  The food in the restaurant was excellent so make sure you book a table as it was very popular with locals too.  The swimming pool and grounds were very nice and Dole is a great town to walk/cycle around.

Excellent restaurant

The hotel is run by a chef and his wife, and is more a top-class restaurant with rooms, than a hotel first and foremost. There were no complaints about service however which was always professional and courteous, if a little detached. The rooms are modernised, air-conditioned and spacious, with a quirky bathroom which is attached to the room rather than en-suite, but fully serviceable and modern. There is a lovely pool in the grounds although you have to catch it early the next morning since the robot cleaner is put in shortly after breakfast! The food was excellent with a wonderful array of creative amuse-bouches and starters, and we both had a delicious lamb for the main course. The wine list is abundant with some reasonably priced local wines going up to some very fine wines at much higher price levels. The restaurant decor is very relaxing and airy, with nice views over the gardens and pool, and well-spaced tables. All in all a lovely overnight stay, but please keep the pool open a bit longer in the morning for those who do not rise early!

Elegant chateau with first rate restaurant

We had a great time in this lovely restaurant. All the plates were delicious  except the dessert that it was good but not at the level of the rest. Something that needs improvement is the service, that lacks rhythm so we have been waiting long either for the next  plate to come or for the empties to be withdrawn. Very good value for money.

Very nice restaurant

location good and easy to the motorway. Nice rooms, lovely gardens. The restaurant is superb and welcoming to children too, sometime an issue in some chateau's.

Good wine selection too and Jura offerings not just Burgundy.

Great Stop Over

We spent 1 night here on route to our final Holiday destination in the Haute Savoie. It was perfect. The chateau is charming, set in beautiful mature gardens with swimming pool. Rooms are modern and very comfortable - I loved the bath tub in the bedroom - felt luxurious and a touch decadent. The owners were friendly and patient with my rusty French. But best is the the food which was outstanding. Highly recommended!

Possibly my favourite ever!

We stayed one night in the suite and enjoyed every minute in this chateau.
The building and the big garden are just awesome.
Unfortunately our suite was not ready when we arrived at 3:30pm and we had to wait after 4pm.
The room itself was really huge and had a big balcony. Unfortunately the balcony has no chairs or any other furniture and also the rest of the suite could need other or more furniture because of the big size.
What we both liked a lot was the very special and high quality breakfast. Just try it :)

Ver nice house and garden

I have known the owners of this hotel/restaurant since they started in a little restaurant in Dole.  Their dream was to have a country inn and restaurant combination.  They have succeeded completely.  The hotel is charming every room different and modern in a classic kind of way.  The restaurant is why we visit as the food is very, very good and always imaginative.  Classic understated service may seem aloof to some, but it is intentionally that way as it grants privacy in a world where that is sometimes hard to find.  I highly recommend Mont Joly to passersby and suggest that it is worth more than a side trip for anyone who may be in the area.
